October 22, 1995 pi91jvcd.doc ~1 Perforation Cement Plug BPX / PBU / Well G-04 Prudhoe Oil Pool Sundady October 22, 1995: I traveled to BPX's PBU well G-04 to witness the perforation cement plug in preparation for a future side track. A pressure test was attempted and appeared to leak approximately 100psi over a 10 minute time frame. The pressure test was attempted several times with the same results. The plug was then tagged at 9933' measured depth, 186' above the uppermost set of perforations. The well will have a mechanical bridge plug and more cement placed above the perf. plug for a kick off point for the side track. After consulting with Blair Wondzell the decision was made to approve the existing perf. cement plug. Summary: I witnessed the tagging and pressure testing of the Perforation Cement Plug on well G-04. STATE OF ALASKA ALA,'SKA OIL AND GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION APPLICATION FOR SUNDRY APPROVALS 1. Following CTU operations, the uppermost intervals will be left squeezed. 1. Rig up coiled tubing unit and pressure test BOP's to 4000 psi. 2. Pump in cement and squeeze off perforations. e Contaminate cement in the wellbore, then reverse out after 24 hours. e Perforate the following continuous interval using 4" carrier guns at 4 spf: 10270' - 10274' MD BKB (add perfs) 10274' - 10286' MD BKB (reperf) 10286' - 10298' MD BKB (add perfs) 10298' - 10305' MD BKB (reperf) 10305' - 10328' MD BKB (add perfs) Note: Ail depths are referenced to BHCS/GR, 8/14/76. 5. Return well to production and test. If the well will not sustain production, perform a mud acid stimulation of the above perforations as follows: 1450 gal. 15% HC1 w/N2 2900 gal. half-strength mud acid w/N2 725 gal. 3% NH4C1 brine w/N2 600 gal. gelled 3% NH4C1 w/600# BAF Repeat steps a through c, then displace to top of perforations with dead crude. 7. Return well to production and test. , If the well is still unable to flow, contingent upper perforations will be added (10250' - 10260' MD BKB). 9. All w~lls had shut in autc~atically gn lc~ pressure pilot when GC-1 was shut ~k~'for modification. Low pressure pilots at the wells are set at 590 psi. Low pressure flowline pilot located at the c~ntrol house is set at 625 psi. High pressure pilots are set at 2600 psi. Since we could not bleed into the flowline, a high pressure hose was connected to the top of the tree and pressure bled into a tank in the back of a pickup. The wells were extremely gassy and most of the time expendext in testing was in bleeding the gas caps down.' Testing c~ all wells was initiated by reading the pressure above the SSV, bleeding it to zero and monitoring for any buildup for five minutes. The SSS valve was opened by pressuring control line to 5000 psi. The tubing pressure rose to 1320 psi indicating the SSS valve was open. I then asked them to close the master valve which they did and bled the psi above the master surface valve down to 600 psi. I observed the pressure for 15 mtnu~s, valve held pressure OK. The master valve was opened, pressure built back up to 1320 psi on the tubing. The control line pressure was bled off, the ball valve clo~ed. Tubing pressure was bled down to 500- psi. I observed this pressure for 25 minutes. The SSS valve held OK. There was no buildup of pressure. In summ~ry: I spent several daYs at Prudhoe Bay at BP's base camp and al'rill site to witness a subsurface safety valve test.
