Harrell McRaney, operator for Amoco, and I started the BOP test at 4:00 PM. The test plug was of the wellhead type. There are two valves on the choke side of the spool and one valve on the kill side of the spool and a 1o~ ~torque check valve which was tested to 3000 psi. The .check valve did not hold the test. The upper pipe rams and lower pipe rams tested to 3000. psi. The blind rams or CSO's tested to 3000 psi. The hydril or annular preventer tested to 1500 psi. There were 3" outlets on the spool.. There were 12 single flanges on the manifold connected to crosses and 12 double flanges. Eleven lovl torque wing valves, two positive chokes and one superchoke were tested to 3000 psi and held. The upper and lower kelly .were .tested last and held 3000 psi. The accumulator master gauge ~was 2700 psi.. The controls on the accumulator were actuated plus master controls on the floor which were OK. They had four N2 backup bottles in the cellar with the accumulator, but were not hooked up to the accumulator. There was no way at. the time to check them. The operator for Amoco, Harrel McRaney, told me. he would see that this was taken care of and manifolded up and also repair or replace the check valve within 5 days and give us a call as well as the psi on each backup N2 bottle. There was a dart valve on the floor which was OK. In summary: I went to platform Baker for a BOP ~test. The rig was in good shape and all tests were OK except for a check valve which they are to repair and N2 backup bottles that are: not hooked up. Both Harrel McRaney, operator for Amoco, and Bill Halverson, superintendent for Amoco, said this would be taken care of and give us a call within five days. Sep.%ember 9, 1976 - Bill Halverson called. The check valve has been r~iaced and N2 backup bottles manifolded up to accumulator and four bottles have 1600 psi each.
