However, this office conducted a compliance check on Ivishak No. 1 Drill Site and the terms of that permit had been satisfied and the case closed. .~ ~_ ,. ~- No problems relating to Echooka Unit No. 1 were encountered on the latest compliance inspection nor any problems encountered in 1975. In compliance with 20 AAC 25.170 Section (a), "Within one year of suspension or abandonment of aD. on.- shore well", all clean up work is to ~ finished. Section (b) provides the means for an extension of tirade if a valid reason exists. Section (c) provides for on site inspection. Consequently, %~ are presenting the following list of your abandoned and/or suspended wells. F~any of these are now more than one year old. and are not in compliance with regulations. Others should have the final insF~ction completed this sumraer while weather permits. This list covers the years 1975 to date. There may ~ some earlier wells that also need ins}~c- tion. Brinkerhoff Drilling Company partial rig crew begin work at Deadhorse~ to move Brinkerhoff Drilling Company Rig No. 20. Mobilize Bechtel's all terrain rolligon freight vehicles from Deadhorse to Ivishak and Umiat~. Establish base of operations at Umiat and the Ivishak area, utilizing the pre-existing Echooka Airstrip facilities. Move components of Brinkerhoff Drilling Company Rig No. 20 from Umiat to Ivishak with rolligons. Also move-rig camp to Ivishak. Begin installation of camp at Ivishak on old Echooka Airstrip camp- site. Discontinue moving rig from Umiat to Ivi- shak due to severe weather and lack of replacement parts for rolligons. Rig crew install camp at Ivishak and rig up. In- stall runway lights. Install 100,000 gal fuel storage facility. Install radio antenna towers and radios at Ivishak. Backhaul surplus ~rig components from Umiat to Fairbanks on Hercules Aircraft. Rebuild runway at Ivishak in prepara- tion for transport of drilling materials and supplies to Ivishak by Hercules Aircraft. Complete move of Brinkerhoff Drilling Company Rig N°. 20 from Umiat to Ivishak with rolligons. Per- form repair work on drilling rig. Mobilize con- struction equipment to Ivishak. Haul gravel and construct drillsite. Install Cellar and excavate Reserve Pit. Construct Ice Road from airstrip to drillsite. RIGGING UP DRILLING EQUIPMENT Haul drilling rig components to drillsite from Ivishak Airstrip. Rig up drilling rig.. Perform maintenance and additional rig up work as re- quired. Install new Mud Tanks and Mud Lines on rig. Drill rat hole and mouse hole. Replace rig boiler, other non-operational rig components. Move in and rig up cementing and wire line ~ logging equipment. Install Mud Logging equipment. Winterize rig and prepare rig for extreme cold temperatures. (NOTE: Distance from ground level to rotary Kelly.bushing = 17'). Run 1 Joint of 20" OD casing to 40.50' RKB and cement to surface in two stages with 60 sx Fondu Cement. WOC. Drill mouse hole. DRILLING 17%" HOLE AND SETTING 13 3/8" OD CASING 24 Jan. 1975 thru 5 Feb. 1975 Continue rigging up, rig repair and rig component changeout. Mix mud. Start drilling 17%" hole at 1700 hours on 2 Feb. 1975. Drill 17%" hole to 126' RKB. Run 3 Joints of 13 3/8" OD casing to 122' RKB. Cement casing to the surface with 475 sx Fondu Cement. Test Hydril and casing to 500 psi for ¼ hour. Drill cement from 69' to 126' with 12¼" bit. Drill 12¼" hole to 137'. 13 Feb. 1975 thru 16 Feb. 1975 Drill 8%" hole from 137' to 1200'. Run dual in- duction-laterolog, bore hole compensated Sonic Log, formation Density Compensated Log and the four-arm high resolution dipmeter from 1200' to ~o , 123'. Deviation: 2 o@ 170'; 3/4° @ 490 ; 1¼° @ 870'; 1%° @ 961'; 1¼ @ 1200'. Mud: 9.4 ppg Vis 40 WL 5.2 Cl 11,000. 17 Feb. 1975 thru 21 Feb. 1975 Open 8%" hole to 12¼" from 137' to 1199'. Run 9 5/8" OD casing: 5 Joints of 47 lb/ft, N80, Buttress thread, and 25 Joints of 43.50 lb/ft, N80, Seal Lock casing with Float Shoe and Float Collar. Casing landed at 1197 RKB. Cement 9 5/8" casing to the surface with 550 sx of Fondu Cement. Circulate cement. WOC. DRILLING 8½" HOLE TO TOTAL DEPTH 22 Feb. 1975 thru 27 Feb 1975 Install 10"-3000 psi x 9 5/8" weld-on casing head; 8"-3000 x 10"-3000 Adaptor Spool; 8"-3000 Shaffer double hydraulic operated BOPE; 8"-3000 GK Hydril; choke manifold and kill manifold. Rig up discharge lines from choke manifold. Pressure tested 9 5/8" OD casing, wellhead, hydraulic operated BOPE, including blind rams and pipe rams, choke manifold and kill manifold to 3000 psi. pressure tested Hydril to 1500 psi. Drill cement with 8%" bit from 1110' .to 1196'. Drill new 8%" hole to 1812'. Trip to change bits Devia- tion: 1%° @ 1298'; 3%° @ 1416'; 4° @ 16~7'; 4° @ 1750'. Mud: 9.9 ppg Vis 43 WL 5.6 C1 15,500. 28 Feb. 1975 thru 1 Mar. 1975 Stuck drilling assembly with bit @ 1492' during trip out of hole. Run free-point indicator and back off drill collars @ 1412'. Leave 84' of bottom hole assembly in the hole. Run fishing string with bumper sub and jars. Screw into fish. Jar fish loose and pull out of hole. Ran Halliburton test tool assembly consisting of BT Pressure Recorder, Perforated Anchor, open hole Anchor Safety Joint, dual Packers, VR Safety Joint, hydraulic Jars, Hydro-spring Tester, dual CIP Sampler, and Reverse Circulating Sub with eleven 6" drill collars for Drillstem Test number 1. Packers set at 2088 and 2093. Ran no fluid cushion. Bottom hole flow tube size 3/4" ID. Open tester at 0047 hours for 18 minutes first flow period. Close tester for 36 minutes first period shut in. Open tester for 66 minutes second period flow. Close tester for 132 minutes second period shut in. Release packers and POH. Initial hydro- static pressure 1084 psi. First period flow pressure 45 psi. First period closed in pressure 64 psi. Second period flow pressure 45 psi. Second period closed in pressure 64 psi. Final hydro- static pressure 1084 psi. Recovered 20' of mud. No gas to the surface. Had very weak blow during first flow period. Drill 8½" hole to 2425'. Cut core number 2 from 2425' to 2467'. Recovered 42' of siltstone and sandstone. Run same Halliburton test tool assembly as in DrillStem Test number 1 for Drillstem Test number 2. Set dual packers at 2402 and 2407'. Ran no fluid cushion. Opened tester 1905 hours for 10 minute first flow period. Closed tester for 30 minute first period shut in. Opened tester for 60 minute second period flow. Closed tester for 120 minute second period shut in. Release packers and POH. Had weak to very weak blow for 5 minutes during first period flow. Had weak to very weak blow during second period flow, for 5 minutes. No gas to the surface. Recovered 10' of drilling mud. Initial hydrostatic pressure 1207 psi. First period flow pressure 45 psi. First period closed in pressure 131 psi. Second period flow pressure 47 psi. Second period closed in pressure 181 psi. Final hydrostatic pressure 1207 psi. Drill 8½" hole to 2855'. Run following Schlumber- ger Wire Line Logs: Dual. Induction Laterolog; Bore Hole Compensated Sonic Log with Gamma Ray; Forma- tion Compensated Density Log; and 4-Arm high resolution continuous dipmeter survey. Take 84 sidewall cores and recover 70 good cores with Schlumberger Sidewall Core Gun. PLUGGING AND ABANDONING WELLBORE Measure drill pipe in the hole open ended and tag bottom at 2855'. Circulate and condition mud. Mix and displace 50 sx of API Class B cement with open ended drill pipe hung at 2855'. Calculated top of plug number 1 at 2728'. Lay down 4½" OD drill pipe. Place cement plug number 2 with drill pipe hung at 2493' using'f50 sx of API Class B cement. Calculated IVISHAK UNIT NO. 1 summary CONFIDENTIAL top of plug number 2 at 2368'. Lay down 4½" OD drill pipe. Place cement plug number 3 with open ended drill pipe hung at 2195' using 75 sx of Triple X Hi-Early Cement. Calculated top of plug number 3 at 2005'. Lay down 4½" OD drill pipe. Place cement plug number 4 with open ended drill pipe hung at 1257' using 75 sx of Triple X Hi-Early Cement. Calculated top of cement plug number 4 at 1069'. Lay down 4%" OD drill pipe and pull out of hole. Measure ~ open ended drill pipe in hole to 120'. Place cement plug number 5 using 50 sx of Fondu cement. Cement in place at the surface at 1130 hours this date. TEARING DOWN OF DRILLING RIG AND REMOVAL OF DRILLING EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FROM DRILLSITE 12 Mar· 1975 thru 15 Mar. 1975 Remove BOPE and wellhead, pull rat hole and mouse hole. Rig down derrick and floor, lay down derrick. Disassemble rig and drilling equipment and haul to Ivishak Airstrip. All drilling equipment removed from Drillsite on 15 March 1975. DRILLING EQUIPMENT DEMOBILIZATION AND CLEANUP 16 Mar. 1975 thru 4 Apr. 1975 Install 4" OD x 15' long abandonment marker with bead-welded data showing Operator, Well Name, and Well location. Relief valve with Bull plug installed placed in top of marker, 8' above ground level. Marker welded and cemented in place after removal of casing head. Clean up debris and remove all trash and junk from Drillsite. Backfill Reserve.Pit and replace original top soil to maximum extent possible. Grade Drillsite and restore original contours to maximum extent possible. Demobilize drilling equipment from Ivisiak Airstrip area by Hercules Aircraft and trucks. Stack sur- plus drilling supplies on Echooka Drillsite. Re- moval of drilling equipment from Ivishak Airstrip area complete on 28 March 1975. Rig down and remove support facilities at Ivishak Airstrip. Backfill sumps and burn pits. Remove junk, trash and debris. Grade and restore general area. Enclosed are the following: 1. Three executed copies of Form 10-401, "Permit to Drill or Deepen." 2. Filing fee in the amount of $100.00, payable to State of Alaska, Department of Revenue. 3. Three copies of a supplemental data sheet attached to the permit form providing detailed information on cementing plans, anticipated geology, blow-out prevention equipment, and formation evaluation. 4. Three copies of a diagram of the blow-out prevention equipment on Brinkerhoff Drilling Company, Inc. rig #20, which rig will be used to drill the well. 5. Three copies of Surveyor's Plat of proposed wellsite location. As discussed, this wellsite is located on Federal lands over which the USGS has primary regulatory jurisdiction. We are this date filing Notice of Intention to Drill with that agency and will meet all USGS requirements with respect to permits, operating procedures, and bonding.
