The applicable regulation is as follows: 20 AAC 25.110 SUSPENDED WELLS (a) Upon application by the operator under 20 AAC 25.105(e), the commission will, in its discretion, approve the suspension of a well if the well (1) encounters hydrocarbons of sufficient quality and quantity to indicate the well is capable of producing in paying quantities as reasonably demonstrated by well tests or interpretive formation evaluation data; or (2) is reasonably demonstrated to have future value as a service well. For each well on the attached lists of suspended wells, please provide data showing that the well meets the criteria of (1) or (2) above or advise as to your plans to abandon the well. Wells that meet the criteria of (a) above that you wish to maintain as suspended, as required by 20 AAC 25.110(e), must have well site inspections this year prior to snow covering the locations. . Box 107839 Anchorage, AK 99510-7065 Re: Abandonment of Delta State Well No. 2 SW/4 Sec. 35, TllN, R16E, UM Telecopy No. (907) 276-7542 Dear Mr. Thomas A review of our records shows that the subject well was drilled and tested by Atlantic Richfield Company in 1975 on leasehold ADL-47470, and was suspended on May 17, 1975. With the exception of the surface plug, the well bore has been properly plugged. Delta State Well No. 2 is now on leasehold ADL-318601 which was acquired by Chevron on November 1, 1980. We understand that Chevron has accepted responsibility for the complete abandonment of this well. Section I10(a) of the regulations states the Commission will, in its discretion, approve the suspension of a well if the well is capable of producing hydrocarbons in paying quantities or is reasonably demonstrated to have future value as a service well. Section 105(e) states that "[e]ach well to be abandoned or suspended must be plugged...to prevent the movement of fluid either into or between freshwater and hydrocarbon sources and to prevent all other fluid migration within the well bore." We are, therefore, requesting that you submit Form 10-403, Application for Sundry Approval, with a program which will bring tile status of this well into compliance with the new regulations; and provide a schedule for this summer when our field inspectors can accompany your representatives to the well site for location clearance inspection. Please call Harold J. Hedlund at 279-1433 if you have any questions. jo/A.HJH.22 October 17, 1985 Ms. Jo Ann Gruber ARCO Alaska, inc. P.O. Enroute by helicopter from Deadhorse to the Amoco location we flew over, circled and photographed the Arco Delta State #2 location. This well is presently suspended and the Loffland Rig #162 is stacked on location. An oil slick was visible on both the reserve pit and the burn pit. The attached Photo's #1 and #2 show the rig and camp but the oil observed on both pits is just barely visible along the south edge of the reserve pit. Gas volmmes were measured by a 6" senior barton orifice meter. Tank measurements were hand strapped. . Gas specifi'c gravities were measured with Ranarex gravitometer. Shakeout samples were obtained at wellhead and centrifuged for 6-8 min. Ion count was made by titration. Wellhead pressures were recorded on Barton pressure recorder and a 5000# Amerada guage. Bottom hole pressures were recorded by ~o Amerada 12000~ - 6 day pressure recorders, and two sperry stm 11000# - 7 day pressure recorders. The gauges were strapped on the tail pipe below the RTTS packer. ~vo Sperry Sun 5000# - 3 day pressure recorders were run on wireline prior to opening well. TOTAL PRODUCTION . Liquid volm?~es were measured, by a 2" Halliburton turbine meter. Gas vol~r~es were measured by a 6" senior Barton orifice meter. Tank measures were hand strapped. Gas specific gravities were measured with Ranarex gravitometer. Shakeout samples were obtained at wellhead and centrifuged for 6-8 min. Ion count was made by titration. Wellhead pressures were recorded on Barton pressure recorder and a 5000# Amerada guage, Bottom hole pressures were recorded by 2 Amerada 12000# - 6 day pressure recorders and 2 sperry sun 11000# - 7 day pressure recorders. The gnages were strapped on the tail pipe below the RTTS packer.
