A call from Doug Amos in Anchorage advised me that plugging for abandonment of Arco's West Sak %20 was underway. I immediately contacted Arco..Drilling Foreman, Don McKelvey at that location. He advised the lower plug (Plug %1, Sheet #6 of attachment) had Just been pumped. I then drove to the lo~ation which is 22 miles southwest of Ar¢o's K~paruk Camp.. Later in the evening I witnessed pumping of Plug %2 (Sheet %7 of attachment). I witnessed no further ope~ations on this Job due to other commitments at Pump Station %1 and West Sak %16. However, I was in regular contact w~th the drilling foreman in charge. Tuesday, March 10 - Inspect analyzer skid piping and bench test solartron at Pump Station %1, the subject of a separate report. Any unexpected flows between the permafrost interval and 10-3/4" shoe 1650-2700 would be controlled by circulating the hole with weighted mud. 13-5/8" BOPE Equipment Anticipated reservoir press, in the U. Kuparuk Interval is 3335 psi~ (Determined from RFT and production test data on development and earlier W. Sak wells). Formation inte. grity (frac gradient) has been determined to be in the order .7 psi/ft from leak-off and formation tests. As a result the maximum pressure the BOPE could see prior to surface shoe breakdown is 1890 psi. DIRECTIONAL WORK This well will not be directionally drilled. Its natural course will be monitored with single shots @ 500' intervals during drilling as re- quired by DOG regulations. A continuous Gyro will be run after setting ~?" casing if the well is to be completed. JAN2 0 1981 Alaska Oil & Gas Cons.
