Mr. R. W. Magee Area Engineer Chevron U.S.A., Inc. P. O. Box 7-839 Anchorage, Alaska 99510 Dear Mr. Magee: Applications for the sidetracking and redrilling of five (5) wells were received on September 15, 1980. In each of the applications, the plans called for the redrilled hole to be about 50 feet distant from the existing well bore. The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, recoginizing the efforts to maximize oil recovery from'the Swanson River Field, authorizes the sidetracking~ redrilling, completion and production in the following five (5) wells: .Soldotna Creek Unit 921A-4 Soldotna Creek Unit ~12A-3 Soldotna Creek Unit #42A-5 Soldotna Creek Unit #44A-8 Soldotna Creek Unit #41A-9 Very truly yours, Commissioner BY THE ORDER OF THE COMMISSION Form 10-401' REV, 1~1-71 SUBMIT IN TR .~TE (Other instructi6ns on STATE OF ALASKA OIL AND GAS CONSERVATION COMMITTEE PERMIT TO DRILL OR DEEPEN la. Gas may be encountered'after packers are released, while cleaning out the 7" prior to abandonment and while redrilling. Shut in tubing pressure is approximately 3000 psi. Care must be exercised not to swab the well while tripping or pulling production equipment. B. Extreme caution must be.exercised while redrilling due to the possibility of high pressure water entries. The first 300 feet of int&rval~to be ~edrill&a is normally drilled with 98 pcf mud. The programmed mud weight of 77-79 .pcf will overbalance a 5430 psi pressure by 145-220 psi. C. A mud weight Of 77-79 pcf should minimize potential for lost circu- lation while drilling the Hemlock. However, LCM should be kept on hand at all times. .o · . Do Any kicks should be handled by normal procedures. All personnel should be made aware of these methods and care must be exercised at all 'times. The hole is to be kept full at all times. 2. Maximum anticipated formation pressure: A. 5430 psi in the "G"~at window depth 10,550 feet. B. 4600 psi in the Hemlock. Top Hemlock 10,890 feet. 3. Maximum possible surface pressure: 3500 psi. 4.
