Based on surrounding well data. Based on gas filled well with gradient = 0.1 psi/ft to Mid-Perf @ 9,OOOft. BLuce 18-42 was drilled and completed in 1968 as a Middle Kenai C sand producer. On 11/84 the well was worked over and an obstruction was found at 8,644ft. Currently several tubing leaks prohibit the well from being brought on to production. The planned work consists of bringing Br 18-42 back on to production. This will entail pulling and reinstalling the patch that is currently set over the interval 7,758 ft to 7,804 ft. It is suspected that this patch has not sealed the entire compromised tubing section. Production will test short and long string for integrity. There are multiple suspected leaks in the long and short strings. Should a leak be found and isolation possible an additional patch will be installed. Procedure: 1. Rig up lubricator onto long string. Pressure test lubricator to 3,OOOpsi. 2. Rig up slick line unit. 3. Rig up 2.5" gauge ring and run in hole to top of patch at +/- 7,758 ft. a. Note fluid level. 4. Pull out of hole, rig down gauge ring, and rig up pack off latch. 5. Pick up and run in hole with pack off latch, latch pack off and pipe at +/- 7,758 ft. 6. Pull out of hole with latch assembly, pack off and spacer pipe and lay down the same. 7. Pick up and run in hole with latch to retrieve AD -2 stop at +/- 7,804 ft. 8. Latch bottom AD -2 stop and pull out of hole. 9. Pick up and run in hole with pump latch assembly to +/- 8,200 ft. 10. Pull out of hole with jet pump and lay down the same. 11. Pick up and run in hole with standing valve pulling tool. 12. Pull out of hole with standing valve and lay down the same. 13. Pick up and run in hole with GR, make drift run and tag. 14. Pick up and run in hole with rebuilt standing valve, set, and pull out of hole. 15. Pick up and run in hole with rebuilt jet pump, set, and pull out of hole. 16. Pick up and run in hole with D&D hole finder to +/-8,000 ft. a. Correlate to previous D&D hole finder run dated 7/20/12. 17. Identify compromised zone and reinstall patch. 18. Pick up and run in hole with AD -2 stop to appropriate depth. Well Prognosis Well: Br 18-42 Hileorp Alaska, M Date: 6/12/2013 19. Set AD -2 stop and pull out of hole. 20. Pick up and run in hole with pack off and patch pipe. 21. Set patch and pull out of hole. 22. Rig down slick line and lubricator on long string. 23. Rig up slick and lubricator on short string. 24. Rig up and run in hole with bailer until no longer necessary. a. Pull out of hole and rig down bailer. 25. Pick up and run in hole with D&D hole finder to +/-8,000 ft and pressure test. 26. If hole is identified proceed to set patch. 27. Operations to bundle test system. a. Should bundle test fail slick line will set plugs in both long and short string to identify which string is leaking. b. Upon identifying leaking string slick line will continue with hole finder. c. Additional patches may be installed over compromised sections of tubing. i. Refer to step 15 to 18 for patch installation. 28. Turn well over to production. Attachments: 1. We have reviewed and revised the list of wells inactive for more than five years you provided us. Attached is an updated list with our comments. Please note that nearly a third of the list you provided is comprised of wells on the Baker and Dillon platforms. We are currently conducting operations to prepare both of those platforms for abandonment. We expect the actual well abandonment work to commence in 2010. Our long range well abandonment plans for our other fields are currently being developed. The current strategy is to group/sequence well abandonments by platform over the next several years. Please also note the following corrections to your list: (1) added G-30 to the Commission's list of wells (shut-in date of 6/02); (2) removed from your list SCU 21A-04 (which has been shut in for less than five years); and (3) removed from your list SCU 312-09 (now in Operational Shutdown status). Thank you for the opportunity to respond with the revisions to the list. If you would like to discuss our long range abandonment plans please let us know and we can set up a time to discuss them with the Commission. If, for any listed well, UNOCAL believes the Commission's information is not correct, by August 3, 2009, please indicate the status of the well—i.e., in production, plugged and abandoned, suspended, converted to a water well, or converted to an injection well—and provide all documentation relevant to the well's correct status. If, for any listed well, UNOCAL agrees that the Commission's information is correct, by August 3, 2009, please identify the plans, including the schedule, to plug and abandon the well, suspend the well, return the well to production, or convert the well to a water well or injection well. This request is made pursuant to 20 AAC 25.300. Responding does not relieve UNOCAL of the obligation to comply with any legal requirements or mean that the Commission will not take any additional action, such as an enforcement action under 20 AAC 25.535.
