It is quite clearly not thermogenic in origin" Not thermogenic simply means that the gas was not formed during the high temperature and pressure processes that form natural gas. gar ..... On September 17, 1997, we did a field examination of Johnson Slough #1, API number 1332017000 Permit to Drill number 6900050 Lease ADL# 17797 This well was plugged and abandoned on February 17, 1969. It is a Shell Oil well site in Section 36, T8N, R16W, SM in the Redoubt Bay area on USGS Quadrangle Kenai C-6. When I visited the site on September 17, 1997, I saw gas bubbling up around the well head marker. Apparently the cement job was not adequate. There is a wood plank enclosure around the well cellar. On September 17, 1997, there was water standing within the wood plank enclosed well cellar. The gas was bubbling up through the water around the well head marker. Please send me copies of any findings your field person makes or any corrections required of Shell Oil.
