_ .
On May 2, 1969, I traveled by State automobile to the Hill Production
Fishhook No, 1 well, which was drilling, to witness the operation of
the blowout preventers.
The drilling was shut down long enough to actuate the pipe rams and
Hydril preventer. Both functioned properly and in minimum time.
It was necessary to manually actuate the preventer from the accumulator
because the rig floor controls were inoperative.
General upkeep around the location was good and ditches had been dug so
that water would be diverted to the pits.
This well is on Federal land and no abandonment inspection by this office
will be required.

Chief Petroleum Engineer
DATE : April 28, 1969
SUBJECT:
Fishhook #1
Hill Production Company
On April 26, 1969, Mr. "Pod" Hill called me at home advising that they
had run and cemented surface casing on the subject well. He advised
that the casing had been set at about 485 feet and that they would be
ready to drill plug at 4:30 that afternoon. Since that time had already
passed, I advised Mr. Hill we would not witness BOPE test that day but
would be out the following week to witness operation of the BOPE.

material impervious to oil at all seasons during the year.
'2. Prior to the beginning of drilling, adequate ditching shail surround
the area, taking adVantage of the natural topographY of the land to
insure that any spill that might occur will be drained into the Sump.
3. Prior to abandonment of the site, the sump must be cleared of all oil
and covered.
4. The operator must dispose of all refuse, waste, debris, garbage, pallet
board, visqueen, barrels, etc. by being burned and non-combustibles must

GEOLOGIC.AL DISCUSSION
The No. 1 Fish Hook was spudded in glacial boulder and
conglomerates which continued to a depth of approximately 160'.
Tertiary sediments consisting of sandstones, siltstones,
shales and coals (see sample description herein) were encount-
ered from 160' to 1960'. At I960' the lithology changed from
the more typical tertiary sediments to the more grayish shales,
siltstones and sandstones associated w~th the cretaceous which
persisted to total depth.
At total depth of 2375' Schlumberger electric logs were run
and a correlation with the Austral d/~y hole six miles to the
south, placed the cretaceous in the Fish Hook No. 1 at 1950'.
There were no shows of oil or gas, other than from coal
streaks encountered during the drilling of this well.
CONCLUSIONS
As a result of the'above and after receiving permission
'from acreage conCributing companies and the U. S. Geological
Survey this test was plugged and abandoned on May 7, 1969.
