Gilbreth, Jr. ~ DATE : April 28, 1967 SUBJECT, Field Trip Report Mobil Oil Company Tower ~1, April 26-27, 1967 Mobil Oil Company, Operator CONFIDENTIAL On April 26, 1967, I left Anchorage at 3:05 p.m. and traveled by PNA to Kenai. At Kenai a company automobile carried me to the Nikiski heliport where I caught a company chartered helicopter to Mobil's Granite Point platform. A smaller chopper carried me to the WOD~.CO IV where a drill-stem test was underway. Results of this test are reported separately and are in our files. This test was being made primarily to establish "paying quantities" but was also to be considered for discovery royalties purposes if sufficient quantities were obtained. A company chartered helicopter carried me to the Nlcolai Creek landing strip where a company chartered plane returned me to Anchorage at 3:20 p.m., April 27, 1967. Observations on this trip indicated WODEGO II was anchored in the harbor near Arness dock and the drilling crews have been furloughed to their homes in California. The Shell South Middle Ground Shoal platform was being placed in position on the 26th. Total time spent on this trip was 24 hours 10 minutes, of which 5-1/2 hours were travel time, 6-1/2 hours included work time and 12 hours wait- lng time. O~/cw CONFIDENTIAL Mobil Tower ~1 DST f~2 from 10,258' to 10,293' April 25-26, 1967 April 28, 1967 I arrived on location at 7:00 p.m., 4-25-67. DST ~2 was under~ay at that time. The test had been initiated as follows: DST ~/2 10,258' to 10,293' with bridge plug at 10,300', packer at 10,203', and tail pipe at 10,220'. 3-1/2" drill pipe was used. Tool was opened at 10:22 a.m., 4-25-67, for a 5 minute IF. CI one hour for ICIP. Opened at 11:27 a.m. for test with a 5/8 BH choke. Well dead 1st minute after opening tool on flow period but weak ~to medium blow after one minute and until approximately 6:00 p.m. Decreasing flow from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Well dead at 9:00 p.m. Closed in tool at 9:27 p.m. for 12 hour CIP. Recovered 5 stands of mud and 99-1/3 stands of slightly gas cut brackish water (approximately 465' of mud plus 9238' of GCBW). Water tested 2200 ppm of sodium chloride on top and 1155 ppm sodium chloride in the middle. Operator planned to set permanent type bridge plug above perfs 10,258' to 10,293' 7" , cut , plug top of 7" and base of 13-3/8" and test zone in 13-3/8". Gilbreth ~' DATE : SUBJECTs April 24, 1967 Field Trip Report Mobil Tower ltl April 21-23, 1967 Mobil Oil Co., Opt. On Friday, April 21, 1967, I left Anchorage at 3:30 p.m. by company chartered plane on a trip to the subject location near Granite Point. We landed at Nicolai Creek airstrip and caught a company chartered helicopter to the location, arriving there at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Hoyle Hamilton, Senior Reservoir Engineer in Mobil's Anchorage office accompanied me on this trip. The WODE~O IV was the drilling barge on location. When we arrived, operator was perforating the interval to be tested. DST equipment was run in the hole~ and test tool opened at 2:00 a.m., April 22. Tool plugged and was pulled at 7:00 a.m. Operator re- perforated a portion of the interval open and circulated hole for four hours. DST ~2 was taken over the same interval with tool opened at 5:41 a.m., April 23. Results of this test are in our files. Mobil plans additional tests on this well which will probably start about midweek. I left location at approximately 10:30 a.m., Sunday, April 23. I contacted Mr. Don Perry, Mobil's Area Drilling Superintendent regarding operations on their Oranite Point platform. I was advised that they were fishing on one well and attempting completion on the other well. Since operations were at this stage and no water was being produced, Mr. Perry advised that nothing was going over the side into the Inlet. He advised that they would be drilling a new hole within one week and that we might be able to obtain cutting samples at that time. With this in mind, the sampling on their platform will be delayed until after their next well is spudded. It might be of general interest to point out that jack-up and drilling barge vessels were in place and operations were underway at six locations: 1. Pan Am's Redoubt Shoal- "Polar Cub" was operating. 2. Atlantic's Trading Bay locationrthe J. C. Marthens, was operating. 3. Placid's Middle Ground Shoal,-the "Penrod 66", was operating. 4. Pan Am's North Middle Ground Shoal location,-the J. C. Nickol's, was operating. 5. WODECO IIwas taking soil samples for Phillip's at the North Cook Inlet platfom location. 6.
