Chatterton, Chairman Alaska Oil and Gas' Conservation Commission 3001 Porcupine Drive Anchorage, Alaska 99501 Dear Sir: Digitized Data From Well Logs, Granite Point 18742 Well Nos. 34 and 39 and No Name Island Well No. 1 This is in reply to your letter of February 4, 1983 concerning the submission of the digitized data from all logs run in the subject wells excluding velocity surveys, experimental logs and dipmeter surveys. Our records indicate that this data was not submitted for Granite Point 18742 Well No. 34 and therefore is attached. Granite 'Point 18742 Well No. 39 was never completed or logged. Well No. 39 well had to be sidetracked to Granite Point 18742 Well No. 39RD due to a drillstring becoming stuck and lost in the wellbore. Therefore, there is no data to be submitted for this well. Due to the "tight hole" nature of No Name Island Well No. 1, no composite tape of all the logs was made. To comply with this regulation, a compOsite library tape is currently being made. However, it is not available at this time and will be submitted when available in approximately one month. We'apologize for the delay in submitting the data for these two wells. Very truly yours, L. A. Darsow Di stri ct SUperintendent Attachment RLW/seh February 4, 1983 Mr. L. A. Darsow District Drilling Superintendent Amoco Production Company P. O. Box 779 Anchorage, Alaska 99510 Dear ~. Darsow: The Alaska Oil and Gas' Conservation Commission has recently checked the records of wells completed since January 1, 1979. This review has revealed that the digitized data for certain logs run in a well is not on file with the Commission. The Oil and Gas Regulations require the operator to file, within 30 days after completion, suspension, or abandonment of a drilling well, the digitized data, if available, for copying, for all logs run in the well except-velocity surveys, experimental logs and dip- meter surveys. We would request that you check your records to see if the data has been submitted to the Commission and, if not, that you comply with the regulation with regard to the following wells, Granite Point State 18742 No. 34 Granite Point State 187.42 No. 39. Set 13-3/8" casing at 3,525'. Drilled to 9,191'. While drilling at 9,270', a high pressure water zone was encountered. The mud weight was increased to 10.0 PPG. The surface' pressure on the drillpipe and annulus was 600 psi. The well was circulated and weighting material was added to the mud. The pit mud weight was raised to 10.2 PPG but returns were cut to 9.5 PPG indicating water influx. An 11.2 PPG kill mud was circulated but the well was not killed. Circulated 12.0 PPG mud, lost circulation material and cement to kill well. Fish drillpipe. Plug well back.. Sidetracked well at 4,143'. Drilled to 8,624'. While tripping in with a new bit, the drillstring entered the original wellbore. Unsuccessfully attempted to re-enter the sidetrack. Set cement plug and then sidetracked at 3,550'. Drilled to 9,150'.
