By our application dated March 12, 1963, permission was requested to drill this well 1980' South of the North line and 680' $~est of the East line, Section 1~, Township 9N, Range 12~, Seward Meridian. In order to locate the well at a position compatible to drilling operations providing lB' of water, it was necessary to deviate from the previous location and situate the template and drilling structure 1888.$' South of the North line and B~$o~' Nest of the East line~ Township ~N~ Range 12W, Seward Meridian. 0~r exact position could not be determined earlier until the surveyor completed his final computations. In the meantime we have spent approximately $200,000. in rig time and pile driving operations to make the platform stationary. For this reason we request deviation from Section 2061.1, State of Alaska Ad~inis- trative Code, Title II, Division 2, Chapter 1, Subchapter 2, requiring that wells be drilled 500' from an adjacent section line. In support of our application for the emergency exception to Section 2061.1 of the 0il and Gas regulation, we submit the following information: 1) Number of leasees in a radius of one mile - On~; 2) Plat in quadruplicate drawn to scale 1" equals 1 mile. On the basis of the location pointed out to him on the map, Mr. TuCker said there would be no problem with setnetters in that area because setnetting is not practiced there.
