Mr. Art Gilbert from Chevron has assured Mr. Gary Player, geologist representing the Burglin interests, that Chevron is willing to release the Ivan River Unit 23-12 mud logs to Burglin if requested by the State. Burglin can find no regulatory reason for this data to be withheld. Burglin is requesting that the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission notify Chevron to release the mud logs for Ivan River Unit 23-12 to Burglin and the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. If 'there is a problem with Burglin obtaining the mud logs for the Ivan River Unit 23-12 well please notify Brian Burglin at (907)452-5149. Mud started flowing back on joint #27 and at same time getting no returns in annulus. Put on Halliburton head and attempted to break circulation. Pressured up to 800 psi, dropped back to 400 psi. Pumped in approximately 6 bbls mud without getting any returns in annulus. Casing stuck with shoe at 1183'. Worked pipe, but unable to free same. Rigged up Schlumberger and shot 5 holes in 10 3/4" casing at 1036 - 1037. Attempted to circulate. No returns in annulus. Ran 1" tubing down 10 3/4" x 20" annulus. October 23, 1966 Top cement job #1: Ran 1" pipe in 10 3/4" x 20" annulus to 80' and cemented with 200 sacks type 1 cement (Last 160 sacks treated with 2% CaC12). No cement returns to surface. Had circulation around cellar. C.I.P. at 6:00 A.M. After 2 1/2 hours located firm cement at 34'. Top cement job #2: Ran 2" pipe in 10 3/4" x 20" annulus and cemented with 154 sacks type 1 cement, all neat cement. Cement filled annulus to above drain line and also had cement returns around cellar. C.I.P. at 11:00 A.M. - CASING DETAIL - K.B. STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, W.O.I. - OPERATOR October 2.4..,....1..9..pp Welded on casing head and tested to 5000#. Installed Class IV BOPE and tested to 3000 psi. Ran 9 5/8" bit and circulated at 1085'. Picked up Halliburton D.~. squeeze packer and attempted to run same. While compressing packer into 10 3/4" casing using weight of drill pipe, packer fell 5-6' and sheared releasing sleeve. Packer set at 28'. Ran bit on Kelly and drilled on packer. (Shear sleeve requires 30,000# to shear). October 25~ ...19.66. Drilled out packer and ran junk basket to top of float collar. Cir- culated hole clean. Pulled and made up Halliburton DM squeeze packer #2. Ran in hole with packer to 1088'. Attempted to break cir- culation around shoe through 10 3/4" x 20" annulus and 5 - 1/2" holes 1036-1037. Sheared pin on Halliburton packer. Initially had returns at the surface for approximately 1 min at 250 psi, then lost circulation and had no returns. Pumped 30 bbls mud down tubing with no returns except as indicated at first. Pumped 20 bbls. mud down 10 3/4'~ x 20'~ annulus. No returns in drill pipe. Unable to break circulation' necessary to perform conventional cement job. Pumped in 300 sacks of cement down D.P. and out shoe. Preceeded cement with 10 bbls mud & 10 bbls. water. Displaced cement in 37 minutes with 5 bbls of water and 15 bbls mud. Final pressure 700 psi. Received no returns at surface. Dropped sealing bar and pressured up to 1500 psi. W.O.C. October.26, 1966 Ran Halliburton Squeeze packer #3. Set packer at 998v. Sheared mleeve. Broke down formation with 2200 psi at 2 bbls/min, rate. ~q~eeze Job #1 on holes at 1036-1037: Mixed and squeezed 500 sacks construction cement in 15 minutes through holes 1036-1037. Squeeze pressure 1000-1700 psi. C.I.P. at 12:40 PM. W.O.C. Ran bit to 997' circulated and conditioned mud. October 2~,.. 1966 Drilled out squeeze packer at 998' and cleaned out to 1090'. Ran Schlumberger CBL 1087' - surface. Ran Halliburton Squeeze packer #4. Set packer at 995'. ~queeze Job #2: Broke down holes 1036-1037' with 1050 psi. at 3bbl/min rate. Mixed and displaced 50 sacks cement w/2% CaCl2. Squeezed into formation with 200 psi initially, increasing to 750psi final pre~$ure. Displaced cement wi~h 10 bbls water and 15 bbls mud. Obtained breakdown on holes w/water at 900 psi and 2 3/4 bbl/min rate. Squeezed thru. drill pipe with 155 sacks construction cement. Preceeded with 10 bbl water and mudkil. Mixed 1st 75 sacks cement with 1% mud kil and last 80 sacks with 2% CaC12. Displaced cement with water. Spent 2 hrs. mixing and pumping cement to place. Cleared retainer by 1 1/4 bbl and then staged cement. Pumped cement slow and pressure gradually built to 2150 psi and then dropped back to 1200-1500 psi until tool cleared. Pressured up and bled back in stages to a final pressure of 2000 psi, dropped bridging bar and reversed out. Cement in place at 1:15 PM. Top of cement estimated at + 1011'. W.O.C. October 29, !~96__6 Ran bit and drilled out squeeze packer at 995'. Waited on cement and cleaned out to 1088'. Drilled out squeeze packer at 1088' and cleaned out to 1115'. Drilled cement to 1140', float collar at 1140' and drilled cement to 1173'. Circulated and conditioned mud. October Ran Schlumberger CBL 1173' - surface. Ran open ended drill pipe to 1173' and spotted a 26 bbl high viscosity pill. Pulled to 1043' and circulated. S.q. qeeze ~q~i_~, through holes 1036-1037~· Equalized 100 sacks con- struction cement mixed with 2% CaC12 through drill pipe at 1047'. Preceeded cement with 5 bbls water and followed w/1 bbl water and 11 bbls mud. Pulled 3 stands and reversed out. No cement. Closed rams and hydril, pressured up with Halliburton and squeezed est. 60 sacks cement through holes at 1036-1037'. Final pressure 2000psi. C.I.P. at 4:30 A.M. Left well shut in with 2000# on d.p. while W.O.C. Released press, after 11 hours. Ran bit and located top of cement at 974'. Pumped down with pumps and 3000# weight to 1005. W.O.C. 4 hours and pumped down to 1010' with 4000# weight and 1500 psi. W.O.C. October 31~ 1966 Drilled out medium hard cement 1010~-1035', hard cement to 1056' and cement stringers to 1173'. Drilled out cement and shoe and cleaned out to 1188'. Bit dropped 5'~ indicating no cement below shoe. Made up Halliburton RTTS packer and attempted to go in hole. Tool would not enter casing. Checked and found same to be for lighter weight casing. Made up bit and drill collars and ran in hole to drill ahead. Bit stopped at 1155' and torqued up. Cuttings and junk was coming over shaker. (Derrick man lost a stand of 3 1/2" D.P. in derrick and pipe was stuck before connection was made - total time lost + 4 min.). Had 2786' of liner and 68 stands of 3 1/2" D.P. in hole at time liner became stuck. No hole trouble indicated prior to sticking liner. Lacked 12 stand~ of D.P. from being in hole. Put circulating head on and broke circulation, immediate good circulation. Pulled to 200,000# and slacked-off weight. Liner still stuck. Liner appeared to be differentially stuck. Pumped excess 90# mud from surface system into storage and started watering mud back to reduce weight. Spent nex~ 36 hours reducing weight from 90-78 pcf. and working stuck liner. Next 2 hour mix 175 bbls of SF-100 and 2 bbl NIO and spotted 155 bbl. outside of liner, (sufficient to cover liner from 9043-7496') left 20 bbl. inside. Next 12 hour soaking liner and working same. Last 10 1/2 hour pumping out balance of SF-100 and working liner. Pull maximum of 250,000#. Set all weight down and liner fell free at 12:30 P.M. 12/30/66. Ran same on in hole w/no trouble until last single. Liner became stuck again while hooking-up circulating head. Attempted to get water flow rate by catching heading slugs of water in 5 gal bucket. Using this crude method had ra~es from a low of 20 §al/min to a high of 63 g~al/min. Had 20 gal/min at end of test. Could not measure gas but estimate + 50 MCF/D. Water rate seemed to be decreasing at end of test and gas seemed to be slightly increasing. Pumped 300 sacks cement through shoe. Squeezed 805 sacks cement through perforations 1036'-1037' in four stages. Drilled out cement and shoe and drilled ahead. 18.
