Ninilchik)) . ..y' Tom Maunder, PE AOGCC Mr. Yezierski, The Unocal development you are referring to is called Happy Valley and is within the Deep Creek Unit administered by the State Division of Oil and Gas. The AOGCC has issued permits for 8 wells to be drilled from the same pad located in section 22. According to the information published for these wells, 4 wells reach total depth in section 22 and 1 each in sections 14, 15, 21 and 28. No wells have been proposed for sections 23 or 24. Our regulations do require notice to landowners depending on the distance from the proposed activity. In the case of these gas wells, all owners within 3000' laterally of the well at the production zone should be notified. Although you did not provide the footage distances to the section lines for your property, it would appear that it is likely beyond the 3000' notice distance. If you would like, we can add you to our notice list for any activities that require public notice in this area. www.aogcc.alaska.gov. In the "Orders" section under conservation orders you will find several orders relating to the drilling of the wells at Happy Valley. "Drilling Statistics" would have information regarding when permits are issued or wells are completed. You may also explore our web site at with regard to Unit administration and other land activities, you might contact Ms. Carol Lee at the Division of Oil and Gas. I have included her eddress above.
