Sims Attorney at Law 821 N Street, Suite 206 Anchorage, Alaska 99501 Dear Mr. Sima~ We have received your letter of May 2, 1983, with attachments, regarding a recently purchased tract of land in the Point McKenzie area. We are happy to be of service to you. It is not clear whether you have purchased the land (surfaCe) or you have acquired an otl and gas lease, on the area or both. Regardless, we a~e able to give you the facts on the exploratory well in question. The well in question is the Humble Oil and Refining Company No. 1 Su$itna State. It was drilled in 1963 and 1964 and plugged and abandoned on March 12, 1964. The data on the well is on file in our-offices and is available for inspection during office hours and copies can be obtained. The complete well file is also available from Petroleum Infomation here in Anchorage. Since the Alaska Oil a~d Gas Conservation Com~ission is not involved in the oil an4 gas leasing of the State, we cannot, give you any information on this matter. The Division of Minerals and Energy Management, Olympic Building at Cordova and 6th Avenue is the leasing am of the State Government amd are in a position to answer the lease question. The phone number is 276-2653. We hope this information helps you and if we can be of .~urther service, please let us know. Yours very truly, / /? ' / Harry W.
