J found three 3" pipes which mark the entrance to the pit. The dimensions of the pit are approximately 100' x 70' x 15' (deep). .. DUring my inspection of the pads surface I noticed a trace Of what appeared to be some lost circulation material ('LCM), most probably Mica. The amount was insignificant and would not have been seen if the sun had not been so bright. The following Info was on a 6" marker post: Arco Alaska Inc. Several procedural plans have had to be changed. We have been unsuccessful in our attempts to get below the packer at 10,638'. Several clean out tries were made with coiled tubing as well as numerous wireline fishing attempts. Because of this, we will be moving a rig onto the well and pulling the completion in order to abandon the Hemlock. In addition, we plan to squeeze the 7" casing at 7200'. This is to provide additional protection from fluid migration behind the casing. The rest of the operations will continue as previously approved. Sincerely, Kafla K. Because of a leak in the tubing near the surface the well will be P&A'd with a coiled tubing unit using two 2-7/8" cement retainers set inside of the tubing string. No attempt will be made to recover any of the tubulars from the well. Alaska 0i1 a ~as Cons. Anchorage SRU 12-34 P & A PROCEDURE 1 .) Ensure well is dead and full of fluid. 2.) Rig up electric line unit and pedorate tubing string at: a.) 10,660' (Below packer @ 10,638' and above tubing stop @ 10,665'.) b.) 10,610' (Above packer @ 10,638' and below sliding sleeve @ 10,594'.) 3.) Establish injection rate into formation to ensure perforations are open. 4.) Set 2-7/8" cement retainer at 10,100'+. (Above sliding sleeve). 5.) Run in hole with coiled tubing unit to top of cement retainer. If necessary, circulate out with kill weight brine. 6.) Sting into retainer and circulate around kill weight brine out of the casing valve on the tubing spool. 7.) Close casing valve and establish injection rate into perfs. Mix approximately 150sx (30bbl) of cement. Pump and squeeze cement into pedorations with casing valve closed (approximately 30sx). After at least 1,000 psi squeeze pressure is attained open casing valve and circulate the remainder of the cement into the tubing casing annulus above the packer (500'+) and spot the last 2-3bbl (300+ ft) of cement on top of the retainer. 8.) POOH with coiled tubing to above top of cement. Circulate CTU clean with brine. POOH. 9.) Rig up on 13-3/8" x 7" annulus and test annulus to 1,500 psi. Note: 50% of the collapse of the 7" 23# N-80 --1,930psi, and 70% of the burst of the 13-3/8" 54.5# J-55=1,911psi. 10.) If annulus fails to test~,squeeze same with approximately lOOsx (20bbl) of cement to fill 200'.+. of annular space. 11 .) a.) If sufficient squeeze was attained in step #7 above, re-test the tubing and casing to 1,000psi for 30 minutes. b.) If it is determined necessary to allow the cement additional set time prior to testing then wait on cement as required. 12.) After testing the tubing and casing rig up electric line and perforate the tubing at 175'+. Set cement retainer at 150'+. Run in hole with coiled tubing. Cement the tubing and the casing with 30- 40sx (10bbl ~ of accelerated cement through the cement retainer taking returns through the casing valve. When good cement is at the surface pull out of the hole with the CTU spotting the last 2-3 bbls of cement on top of the cement retainer filling the tubing to the surface. 13.) Cut o~the wellheads and set P&A marker as required. Fill in cellar and clear location. WELL PROFILE CURRENT COMPLETION I ! COMPANY ARCO ALASKA, INC DASINGICASlN~I CASlN~ ~Ja~ I ! Dygas, Branch Chief United States Bureau of Land Management Post Office Box 230071 Anchorage, Alaska 99523 Dear Joseph: Attached is a Sundry Notice requesting approval to temporarily abandon 39 wells in the Swanson River Field for a period of 12 months. This sundry is being submitted to comply with Chapter II, Sec. 3162.4, paragraph C of the Bureau of Land Management Regulations. All 39 of the wells mentioned in the attached Sundry Notice are expected to be shut-in for a period of at least 30 days. The 39 wells listed in Table #1 were identified during our recent review of the status of all wells in the Swanson River Field. These wells have been put into four categories: 1. Evaluate for rate potential 2. Evaluate for plug and abandon/future utility 3. Shut in- inefficient production 4. Shut in - save for blowdown Wells. in Categories #1 and #2 are currently under evaluation to determine their final disposition. Wells in Categories #3 and #4 are wells with little short-term usefulness, but wells that do have some long-term utility.
