Potential Problems Formation pressure in the Hemlock zone at SC.U 14-9 is approximately ~4500 psi. The programmed mud weight of 70-72 pcf will overbalance this pressure by a minimum of 360 psi if the well can be killed from about 10,000'. If it-is not possible to kill the well from 10,000' because of damaged tubing, a highermud weight' will be required. If . ~t'.becomes necessary to use a higher weight mud to kill the well, mud weight should be reduced to 70-72 pcf after the tubing is recovered. 'This will minimize possible formation damage and decrease the chance of lost circulation. 2. Maximum Anticipated 'Formation Pressure: 45O0 psi 2. Maximum Anticipated Surface Pressure: 4000 psi 4. Blowout PreventiOn Equipment: Class III, 5000 psi. Install and test per "Operating Instruction D-l?." · . .. _ . ., PROGRAM 1. Prior to moving in rig, do the following wireline work: a. Make feeler run with 1 1/2" O.D. tool to determine effective depth-inside tubing. b. - Shoot four holes in 2 7/8" tubing with 1 1/2" O.D. gun at a depth as deep as possible but above top packer at 10,404'. Attempt to shoot holes below 10,000'. If unable to reach 10,000' due to condition of tubing, check with engineering prior to perforating so adjustment in mud weight or other program change can be made. c. Set Baker Model "K" straddle packer across parted tubing. d. Check.straddle packer by circulating lease crude oil down tubing, through perforated holes, and up casing. 2. Move in rig, mix 70-72 pcf clay base drilling mud. Kill well by pump- ing mud down tubing and up casing. Note: Higher mud weight may be necessary depending upon depth of tubing.'perforations per Step No. 1. 3. Install Cosasco plug in tubing donut. Remove x-mas tree. Install and test Class III, 5000 psi BOPE per "Operating Instruction D-17." Remove Cosasco plug. 4.
