The well was completed in Zone lA with a 2-7/8" liner and 855' of net perforations. It came online at 3,900 BOPD with a GOR of 2,100 scf/bbl. After completion, the well produced full-time until November 2003 when it was flagged as having TxIA communication. A calliper survey found the tubing in overall poor condition, with 51 joints having penetrations in excess of 85% of wall thickness. The well was subsequently secured with a tubing tail plug. A RWO was completed on 15-45A in May 2005 to replace the corroded tubing. It was shut in for 1.5 years waiting for the RWO. The well came on at 1000BOPD with a GOR of 25,000. After four months the GOR had reached marginal and was shut in. After a two month shut-in period the well came back on line at only 500 BOPD and over 60,000 GOR which was well above marginal. A MCNL was run in 2006, which placed the PGOC 9773' MD. A FCO with dieseUxylene perf was treatment that was performed on May 25, 2007 made no major improvements in productivity. The July 22, 2007 PDS Memory STP showed that the bottom set of perfs was contributing 52% of the production while the tops set was responsible for 45%. There is also a noticeable 1 °F temperature drop at 12650' MD (placed within close proximity to an existing fault) therefore providing some evidence of gas entry from this interval. REASON FOR SIDETRACK: The well currently has an up time of 29% in the last 12 month and is only brought on when there is excess gas capacity. Its last test on 6/24/07 showed 442 BOD and 87600 GOR. 15-45A is bringing very little benefit to the field in its present status, hence the need for the sidetrack. Pre-Rig Work: The pre CTD work is slated to begin on January 15th, 2008. 1. S Caliper inspection to 9500' Done 12/17/07 2. S Run dummy whipstock drift to 9500' 3. Specifically, Unocal Alaska requests permission to run a 4 1/2" ESP completion without a; 1. subsurface safety valve (20 ACC 25.265) 2. production packer (20 ACC 25.200). Justification: 1. The current gas lifted Hemlock completion passed a No-Flow test on December 22, 1998. 2. The G-Zone is known to be partially depleted and is expected to be a thief zone with a SIBHP of 2,518 psi at -8850'SS. 3. The well is expected to produce +9000 BFPD with a high watercut (+/- 90 to 95%) after the ESP is installed. Therefore, reservoir pressure in the vicinity of the subject wellbore is predicted to decline, thus the potential for unassisted flow is predicted to decrease. After drilling to the planned target~he 2 7/81' liner was run and stuck off bottom. Liner recovery efforts resulted in the liner being cut below the window leaving a 2 7/8" liner fish from 11,260 to 12,491. The window is at 10,824'-10,830'. On 7/3/00 Nabors 3S moved off the well leaving the window accessible for future drilling operations. SLB/Nordic 1 coil drilling rig is scheduled to continue operations on 15-45a on approx. Sept. 8, 2000. The plan forward is as follows: (1) Lay cement from top of fish (11,260') to window (10,830'). (2) Drill 3.75" hole to same TD as originally approved on Permit 200-068. (3) Complete with 2 7/8" liner cemented with approx. 15 bbls cement and 3 3/16" liner cemented with approx. 11 bbls cement as described on Permit 200-068. The permit to redrill does not exempt you from obtaining additional permits required by law from other governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required permitting determinations are made. Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with 20 AAC 25 035. Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) must be given to allow a representative of the Commission to witness a test of BOPE installed prior to drilling new hole. Notice may be given by contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607. Robert N. Christenson, P.E. DS 1545A Permit to Drill Subject: DS15-45A Permit to Drill Date: Tue, 16 May 2000 15:17:32-0900 From: "Danny T Kara" <DKARA~ppco.com> To: blair_wondzell~admin, state.ak.us Blair, Schedules have changed such that we would like to initiate milling operations in well 15-45 this coming Friday, 5/19/2000. I would appreciate it if you could review the plan for extending this horizontal well and if possible, approve it by Friday. As we discussed on the phone, we will perform a leak-off test after drilling -10' of new formation. I will be sure to include this in the procedure. AOGCC also has a proposed plan for extending Prudhoe well 15-42. The 15-42 and 15-45 extensions are very similar and contain the same verbage in the Intended Procedure of the permit to drill. Therefore, I will also include a leak-off test in the 15-42 drilling procedure. I would appreciate notification if it appears that 15-45 permit approval will not be likely by Friday. A P&A will not be required. Existing perforations to be isolated with cement behind CT installed liner. Intended Procedure: Attempt to mill through landing collar, float collar and float shoe with service CTU. If unsuccessful, install mechanical whipstock at -10,900' (above landing collar) and mill window in 4-1/2" liner with service CTU. Since perforations are open a leak-off test will not be performed as it will not be meaningful. Directionally drill a 3-3/4" well to access Zone 1 reserves. Run 3-3/16" blank liner across perforated interval, crossover to 2-7/8" in openhole. Cement in place. Run memory CNL, perforate -1500 fi, place on production. NOTE: Drill cuttings will be disposed of at GNI and drilling mud will be disposed at GNI or Pad 3. RECEIVED MAY 05 2000 Alaska Oil & Gas Cons.
