Subject: 2011 Third Quarter's LTSI Well Monitoring Report Attachments: Master Well List TIO Report 2011 10 01.xis Hi Tom & Jim, Here is the third quarter's report for the LTSI wells utilizing pressure monitoring in lieu of an MIT to determine any mechanical integrity problems. The wells G -29RD, G -27, G -22 & G -5RD have been moved to this LTSI report as their downhole problems (like parted tubing) do not allow a temp survey to be run to the proper depth to confirm water entry into the perfs. As a result, they are all shut -in and will remain so for now. t'Z1 - U5 The An -17, An -29, Ba -16 & GPP 33 -14RD wells showed increases in the 13 3/8" annulus, but they all have leveled off lately. — Ba -17, after an MIT, was used in August to disposed of some fluids collected during the well kill operations on Baker. It may be used again in October for fluids collected during a well abandonment operation. I have left this well on the LTSI well list because after this usage, the well will revert to being shut -in for the foreseeable future. All the pressures seen during the usage in August looked appropriate and the well appears to have maintained its mechanical integrity throughout the disposal operations. The general pattern of stable or slowly rising pressure trends continued this month for the Baker & Dillon wells on this list with the only other pressure anomaly related to the seasonal trend in pressures apparent in Ba -15RD. The well kill operations performed on the Dillon platform in August show up very clearly on the plots. Other than the noted issues, there doesn't appear to be any wells that show indications of any well integrity problems. Anna Well No. 29, an injector which was shut-in in November 2002 due to tubing which became plugged (scale?) while preparing for a temperature survey, is being retained for potential future utility as an injector if the plugging issue can be economically resolved. Please note that this information has been reported to the AOGCC (Mr. Jack Hartz) yearly on an annual shut-in well report. However, in the event that this report is not sufficient as a response to the sundry or has not been reaching you, we are additionally notifying you through this submittal. Attached for informational purposes are copies of the annual shut-in reports for 2003 and 2004 mentioned above, a copy of the sundry, and a schematic. Chevron will monitor and record daily injection rates and tubing and casing pressures on the well and provide a report to the AOGCC on a monthly basis. A Shut-In MIT will be run every two years to insure integrity of the tubing and casing. Please call me at (907)263-7675 if you have any questions. ;;1' /J1cvL Hal Martin JHM:jll Attachments 0: \OOE\OOEFields \G PF\An na \Wells \An-291 nj\State _F orms \Correspondence\An-29 Sundry Response Sep05. doc UNION OIL COMPANY OPERATED PROPERTIES WELL DATA FIELD ~Nl{X;AD¡;t8t4£~r~~,;~'~,.,~ SUMMARY Jbtr~~~'J1:~:DJ fBRtl¡-~" - - ,~ '. Well An 29-42 was able to maintain over 3,200# on the robing and casing with zero rate for 2 weeks which is strong evidence that the casing integrity is good. The pressure has been slowlY bleeding off since isolating the well from the surface. Well GP 33-14RD is currently scheduled for baseline temperature survey. In Janum'y 2003, further diagnostic work will be needed to resolve the tbg/csg communication issues. Well GP 22-13RD2 was a conversion project which experienced apparent robing / casing communication and was shut in on 07/26/2000 The Baker Platform waterflood is now shut in. In conjunction with the suspension of oil operations On the Baker platform, plans to secure the downhole injectors are being developed. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact myself at 263-7807, Hal Martin at 263,7675 or Phil Ayer at 263-7620. UNOCAL ~ ~~Alaska Anna 29-42 Permit # 1770560 AP1 # 50-733-20310-00 Packet cover sheet An 29-42.doc jjd NOTE TO FILE Granite Point 18742 #29 Anna-29-42 PTD 177-060 302-398 Unocal has applied for a time extension to perform an MIT on this injection well. This note evaluates Unocal's request and recommends approval of it. The record indicates that this well was originally completed as a water injector in 1977. It last passed a standard MIT in February 1997. In February 1998, tubing x IA communication was noted and the Commission was notified. A letter approval was given on March 31, 1998 to allow the well to remain in service with tubing x annulus communication. Unocal was required to provide monthly pressure and rate monitoring information. That information has been provided. In late November 2002 Unocal was performing wireline work in preparation to conduct a temperature survey. Temperature surveys have been employed in conjunction with monthly pressure and rate monitoring to demonstrate continued mechanical integrity. During the preparatory work, wireline fish were lost in the hole. The well has remained shut-in due to the lost wireline fish and a shortfall in available injection water. Prior to loosing the fish, the tubing and IA pressures tracked as injection rate varied. Since the fish was lost, the submitted record indicates that the pressures have continued to track and have been slowly declining in the last 90 days. The most recent information (to the end of February) shows the pressures continuing to decline with the values at about 200 psi. The provided monitoring information indicates that Anna-29-42 has casing integrity. Area Injection Order 6 allows injection into the Northern Granite Point field. The BHL of well 29 is located in the covered area. The portion of aquifers beneath Cook Inlet described by a 1/4 mile area beyond and lying directly below the Granite Point Field are exempted for Class II injection activities by 40 CFR 147.102(b)(2)(B) and 20 AAC 25.440(c). Granting Unocal's request will not endanger any fresh water. I recommend that Unocal's request for a time extension be granted. At this time, Unocal has not stated when they might attempt to recover the fish or address addition of injection capacity. Unocal should continue to provide the monthly monitoring information and prior to the end of 3rd quarter 2003 provide the Commission with an action plan for this well. Given Unocal's present action in the Inlet to SD two other platforms, it is probably unlikely that this well will be returned to service any time soon. Operator desires to change the surface location of the subject well from Leg 3, Slot 3, to Leg 3, Slot 4, Granite Point Platform Anna. The well will be directionally drilled out from under the existing 13-3/8" surface casing set at 2015' (approximately 1998' TVD, 919' FNL, 552' FEL, Sec. 12, T10N, R12W, S.M,) to the primary target location on top of the C-5 zone, as originally permitted at -8900' MSL, 3100' FSL, 500' FWL, Sec. 7, T10N, RllW, S.M. A secondary target is the C-8 zone, estimated at -9600' MSL, 2900' FSL, 500' FWL, Sec. 7, T10N, RllW, S.M. Drilling will be complete after penetrating the complete C-8 zone at a depth of approximately -10,200' MSL, or 10,500' TMD. Prior to drilling out, the 13-3./8" casing will be pressure tested for integrity. OCT ? !ff?T 16.
