Pull sub off of C-24A and move, with 25 stands in the derrick, to C-17B. Lay herculite, spot and level the sub. Spot the pits, camp, shop and cuttings tank. Berm in all essential areas and take on seawater. Rig Accepted @ 1700 7/4/2004. Pre-Spud meeting with drill crew Install secondary annulus valve. Rig up drill site maintenance Lubricator. Pull CIW 6 3/8 type 'J' BPV, no pressure on well. Rig up lines to tree and annulus taking returns to cuttings tank. Circulate diesel from the well @ 3 bpm, 250 psi. Circulate a soap pill @ 9 bpm, 1,000 psi. Blow down circulation lines. RD lines. ND tree and adapter flange. NU BOP's. Test BOP's and associated equipment, with the exception of the Annular Preventer, to 250/3,500 psi. Test the Annular Preventer to 250/2,500 psi. The witness of the BOP test was wavied by John Spaulding of the AOGCC. RU DSM lubricator and pull TWC. RD lubricator. MU Hanger XC's on landing joint. Hold PJSM. Back out the lock down screws and pull hanger to the rig floor - 195K to pull free and then 170K PU. Break out and LD hanger and landing joint RU handling equipment and Schlumberger spooling unit. lD 5-1/2', 17#, L-80 BTC tubing from 9,666' to SSSV @ 7,490. Terminate control lines and LD SSSV. The well failed a MIT-IA in October 2003 due to corrosion, though the casing has passed a Combo-MIT. The well's remaining value will not support/" a RWO. The intent of the rig sidetrack is to restore C-17's integrity and provide an off-take point in the immediate drainage area. The sidetrack is currently scheduled for Nabors rig 2ES, beginning around June 25th, 2004, after the completion of the C-24A sidetrack. The pre-rig work for this sidetrack will begin at the Well's Group earliest convenience after sundry approval. Marc.h231 200.1' I traveled to Prudhoe Bay Field to witneSs Safety Valve System tests on BPX's C Pad. Well house inspections were also conducted. Merv Liddelow was the BPx representative in charge of testing, and performed the tests ina professional manner. Twenty-one wells on C-Pad were tested with five failures witnessed. The SSV on well C-04A tripped below 50% of the separator Psi, the SSV on well C'07A failed to hold D/P, the pilot on well C-19B was frozen, the pilot on well C-20B failed to trip and the SSV failed to hold DIP. Mr, Liddelow indicated to me that all failures were repaired within 24 hours. I inspected 21 well hOuses and noted leaking wing valves on wells C-03A, C-13A and C-19B. A hydraulic fluid leak on the SSV control line of well C-05 and a slight crude oil leak from the SSV On well C-25A were also noted. Mr. Liddelow indicated he would have these items corrected. The AOGCC test forms are attached, for reference. Orient to 13L. RIH to TD at 11254'. Drill ahead building and turning to right from 11254-11327'. Hard drilling below 11300' (50% chert). POOH for bit. Change BHA. (Motor and Bit) TIH. Tagged WS, Orient TF TIH. Tagged bottom at 11326' Orient TF. In this section of the build, the reactive Torque is 100° Drilling. Good Survey at 11349' Pulled to window for survey and Drilling. Drilling with 90 to 116 R TH and the surveys are indicating a LH walk. Drilled 11326' to 11409' NE Time stated at 0345 Hrs. POOH to change out motor BH. 3/6/98 4 11298 NE time started at 0345 hrs 3/5/98. Inspect BHA and found Sperry MWD GR case had backed out ¼ turn causing misalignment on orientation to motor (90R=highside). Change MWD and motor. RIH with BHA #6 (2.25 deg motor). Tag and correct to 11409'. Check surveys and found that there was no azimuth change from window (drilled high side only). This put the present TD too far beyond even a 3 deg motor to catch up before entering the polygon. POOH to plug back. LD drilling BHA. MU cementing BHA (1.25" nozzle). RIH with BHA #7. Tag TD and correct to 11409'. Mix cement. Safety mtg. PT DS cementers. Pump 2 bbls FW + 8 bbls 17.0 ppg Class G cmt followed by mud with nozzle at 11408'. Lay in open hole while PUH. Park at safety. RIH and contaminate cement to 11270'. POOH jetting cement to surface. By passed 87 bbl of cement contaminated FIo-Pro. OOH and LD cmt BHA. Cut 150' CT off. PU drilling BHA. Drill from 11808-953' horizontal (8862' TVD) while attempting to turn to right. Encountered sticky shales. Backream to window. Drill from 11953-12058' (8861' TVD) and swapped to new mud while entering polygon. Orient to left. Drill from 12058-110' losing angle. Backream to window. Drill from 12110-192' and can't build-still losing angle. POOH for motor. Tie In at 11249' Corrected +9' White Flage at EOP at 11216' POOH. Change Bit, Motor and Dir & ~,R Probe. TIH. To 11173' and installed rebuilt mechanical counter head. Corrected -25' at White Flag. TIH. Logged from 12046' down to 12156' confirm GR reading. (Same). RIH; Tagged TD at 12190' Drilling. Orient, drilling, orient TF down to 120L.. Max angle = 100deg at bit. Try and stay at this 8859' TVDss 319198 7 12345 Drill from 12275-345' corrected TD. Backream to window. Discuss roller coaster hole with town and decide that more sand could be cut (and more GOC standoff would occur) by performing an openhole sidetrack to stay at 8862-67' TVD. Backream to window. Tie-in, add 8.5'. RIH to 12230'. Orient and ream to get TF right. Begin timed backream at 12230'. Ream trough at 105R. Time drill new hole from 12230-40'. Drill ahead from 12240-12260' Not sidetracked. Surveyed. In old hole. POOH to change Bit and motor. Found Nordic Mud Pit #2 is leaking (dripping) internally. OOH and LD Drilling BHA and backed flushed CT with 4 bbl MEOH. Sucked out Mud Pits and cleaned same. Repaired Mud Pits Welded up seam, water tested, OK. PU BHA. RIH to conduct OH Sidetrack -- 3/10/98 8 12250 Finish RIH with BHA #11 (2.0 deg motor). RIH thru window with no problem. Precautionary ream to starting point of OH sidetrack. Tie-in to flag. Perform two slow backreams from 12230' to 12200'. Begin time drilling down from 12210' to 12230', Backed reamed back to 12207' Reamed 0.1' per lmin from 12210' to 12230'. Started extending the trough. Sidetracked at 12228' 3 deg from old hole. Drilling new hole to 12238', Orient TF R and Back ream sidetrack area. Work ST area at 117R. Drilled to 12250' with 117R TF, away from the old hole Azm at + 2 deg, hole angel at - 1.5 deg. 3/11/98 9 '12585 Continue to orient and ream to get left TF. Backream and ream from 12264-12200'. Drill ahead with left TF from 12264-299'. Developed leak in pump suction. Switch to pump #2. Can't drill with it so backream 12299-12250'. Drill 12299' to 12345' @ 110L. Orient TF around to drop hole angle. BHA became stuck at 12229' while orient. Pull up to 80K and down to 0#. Spotted 10 bbl crude and placed 8 bbl around BHA. BHA came free. PUH to window. TIH and circ out crude. Orient TF before going in ST at 12228'. Drill 12345' - 12389' at 176L. Drill to 12450' at 90L - 120L. Started climbing again. Orient to Iow side. Drill 12450' - 12512' gradually bringing TF back to the left. Stacking. Wiper trip to window. Tie-in (+4'). RIH. Drill to 12548' at 40L. Reached desired SSTVD. Put everything into turn. Drill to 12585' at 92L 3/12/98 10 12690 Drilled to 12592'. Wiper trip to window. Drill with LS TF to drop TVD. Drilled to 12676'. Lost motor work. POOH. LD BHA. Installed CTC, pull tested, PT. Perform weekly BOPE test (witness by John Spaulding with AOGCC). MU BHA #12 with 1.25 deg motor and DS111 bit. RIH. Tie-in (-23.5'). Drilled 12682'-12690'. Slow progress. No motor work; unable to stall motor. POOH to check BHA. 3/13/98 11 12758 OOH, PT all surface equipment to 3200 to 3500 psi. Found that the CTC failed PT. Installed new CTC and filled hole. PT failed, Cut 36' CT and reheaded. PT (Passed). PU Drilling BHA and TIH. Tagged bottom at 12692'. Orient TF. Drilling. Having trouble with bit weight transfer. Helical Buckling in wellbore and tubular. Working to get bit to drill. Spotted 25 bbl 5% Lubetex Pill in the open hole. With LT around BHA the WOB weight was reduced by 3000#. Orient and mixing another pill. Talked to town and sent in log. TD well at 12760' MD uncorrected. PUH, tie-In (no correction). TIH and tagged TD at 12758'. POOH. LD BHA. MU liner running equip. Pre-job safety meeting. Run 101 jts 2-7/8" liner with float equipment, integral turbolizers through jt ~42, and one slip-on turbolizer/jt through jt #50. Fill liner with rio- pro. 3/14/98 12 12760 Installed CTLRT, CTC and pull tested to 35k. RIH with liner and tagged bottom at 12760'. No problems running the liner. See Liner/Cement Summary for details. Displaced FIo-Pro with 300 bbl of 2% KCL fluid. Dropped 5/8" Steel ball and disconnected from liner with 2000 psi. PUH free, Stab in and cir. Held safety and operational meeting. Batch mixed cement. PT and pumped 5 bbl water ahead, PT to 4000 psi. Pumped 18 bbl 16.2 ppg cement. SD and lanched dart. Pumped 5 bbl water behind, checked dart (gone). Displaced cement with rig pump using 2% KCL. POOH. MU 2.25" nozzle on 100 jts 1-1/4" CS hydril washstring. (Cement = 1900 psi at 23:00 hrs). RIH. The sidetrack, C-17A, will target the 14P sand. This sidetrack will be conducted in two phases. Phase 1: Lay abandonment cement and set whipstock: Planned for 2112/98. · D-15 has passed a tubing integrity test. The well has been drifted and a Kinley caliper has been run. · Existing perforations will be abandoned with approx. 20 bbls cement. Abandonment cement will be pressure tested to 1500 psi and tagged with AOGCC witness. · A permanent whipstock will be set on ELine at approximately 11,240' MD. Phase 2: Mill Window and Drill Directional Hole: Planned for 2116198. Directional drilling coil tubing equipment will be rigged up and utilized to mill the window and drill the directional hole as per attached plan to planned TD of 12,715' MD (8,850' 'l'VDss). Mud Program: - Phase 1: Seawater - Phase 2: FIo-Pro (8.8 - 8.9 ppg) Casing Program: - 2 7/8", 6.16#, L-80, ST-L liner will be run from TD to approx. 9795' MD and cemented with approx. 20 bbls. cement. The well will then be perforated with coil tubing conveyed guns. Well Control: - BOP diagram is attached. - Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 400 psi and to 4000 psi. - The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2000 psi.
