Re: THE APPLICATION OF ATLANTIC
RICHFIELD COMPANY for an order
redefining the Trading Bay "G"
NE Oil Pool as originally defined
in Conservation Order No. 69.
Conservation Order No. 74
Trading Bay Field
Trading Bay "G" NE Oil Pool
Rule l(b) of Conservation Order No. 69
June 24, 1969
IT APPEARING THAT:
1. The Atlantic Richfield Company submitted a request dated May 29, 1969,
for an order redefining the Trading Bay "G" NE Oil Pool so that a sand
encountered and perforated between 9,990 feet and 10,010 feet in the
Atlantic Richfield Company No. S-3 North Trading Bay State well would be
part of the referenced pool.
2. The perforated sand in tile No. S-3 North Trading Bay State well
correlates reasonably to be within the interval 10,020 feet to ~10,073 feet
in the Texaco-Superior TS No. 1 well which was used to define the Trading
Bay "G" NE Oil Pool.
3. The apparently productive subject sand should be part of the Trading
Bay "G" NE Oil Pool because it appears to be a portion of a common oil
reservoir.
4. Notice of the hearing on the request was published in the Anchorage
Daily News on June 6, 1969, but no protest was received.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING THAT the Trading Bay "G" NE Oil Pool should be
redefined.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT Rule l(b) of Conservation Order No. 69
be amended as follows: "The Trading Bay 'G' NE Oil Pool is defined as the
accumulation of oil common to and which correlates with the interval 10,020
feet to 10,250 feet in the Texaco-Superior TS No. 1 well."

Notice is hereby given that Atlantic Richfield Company has requested
the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Committee to issue an order redefining
the Trading Bay "G" NE Oil Pool to include a sand stringer encountered
between 9,990' and 10,010' measured depth in the Atlantic Richfield
Company No. S-3 North Trading Bay State well. This request would amend
Rule l(b) of Conservation Order No. 69 by adding about 53 feet to the
defined interval for the referenced Pool in the Texaco Superior No. TS-1
Trading Bay State well.
Parties who may be aggrieved if the requested order is issued are
allowed ten days from the date of this publication in which to file a

Dear Mr. Marshall:
Atlantic Richfield encountered a sand in its Trading Bay
Northeast S-3 well which lies between 9,990' and 10,010'
drilled depth, calculated to be productive and may be
correlated either with or above the Trading Bay "G" North-
east oil pool, as defined in Conservation Order No. 69.
This sand was perforated when completing the S-3 well since
log calculations indicated the sand was productive and a
correlation could be made which would place this sand in
the Trading Bay "G" Northeast oil pool.
We recognize that a correlation can be made which would
place this sand above the "G" Northeast oil pool. However,
since the sand calculates to be productive, we are forced
to conclude that the sand is a member of the "G" Northeast
oil pool which may not have been included in the original
definition of the "G" Northeast oil pool. "The Trading Bay
" " N ....
G ortheast o~1 pool ~s defined as the accumulation of
oil common to and which' correlates with the interval 10,073'
to 10,250' in the Texaco-Superior TS-1 well'.'.
Atlantic Richfield requests ~at the upper limit of the "G"
........
Northeast o~1 pool be raised to ~nclude the sand f~nger ~n
question and the G Northeast o~1 pool be redefined as all
sands which are co,on to' ~nd which correlate with the interval
lying between,, the shale body at 10,020 to 10,045 and the
He~ock zone .
Yo~s very truly,
Alaska rict Manager
