Conservation Order No. 183
Prudhoe Bay Field
Prudhoe Oil Pool
June 25, 1982
IT APPEARING THAT:
·
ARCO Alaska, Inc., submitted an application, dated
June 9, 1982, requesting an exception for the subject
well to Rule 3 of Conservation Order No. 145 which
requires production casing or liner to be landed
through the completion zone and cement to cover and
extend to at least 500 feet above the hydrocarbon-
bearing formations which is potentially productive.
·
ARCO Alaska, Inc. proposes an open hole type of comple-
tion which they believe will aid in the evaluation of
completion techniques in the Sadlerochit formation.
®
Notice of the application was published in the Anchorage
Times on June 14, 1982.
4. There were no protests to the application.
FINDINGS:
·
·
Open hole completions are commonly used in many oil
producing areas.
There have been other open hole completions in the
Sadlerochit formation in the Prudhoe Bay Field.
CONCLUSION:
The requested exception will not damage the reservoir, will
not be wasteful and will add to the knowledge of completion
techniques for the Prudhoe Oil Pool.
