Enclosed-please find aspreadsheet-with a list of wells from the Kuparuk field (KRLI). Each of
these wells was found to have a void in the conductor. These voids were filled with cement if
needed and corrosion inhibitor, engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space. As
per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serves as notification that
the treatments took place and meets the requirements of form 10-404, Report of Sundry
Operations.
The cement was pumped December 5th, 2009. The corrosion inhibitor/sealant was pumped
December 22°d, 25th, 26th & 28th, 2009. The attached spreadsheet presents the well name, top of
cement depth prior to filling, and volumes used on each conductor.
Please call MJ Loveland or Perry Klein at 907-659-7043, if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kl

Test's Details
The rig was ready when I arrived. All BOP equipment vas tested this evening with no failures observed. The rig's
overall condition was fair. The rigs gas detectors were tested and passed.
The area surrounding the rig was neat and orderly, there was much snow left from the recent blows with the road
having many drifts along it.
This rigs performance has much improved since it started up. The test time remains slightly long but only reflects
Truman Knutsan's (Driller) intent on performing a good test.
Total Test Time: 41/2 Number of failures: None Attatchments: None

Bill,
This proposal is within our guidelines for changes that do not need formal (written)
approvals.
Thanks for the heads-up. Blair Wondzell 3/20/00.

Blair,
Nabors 16e is currently drilling in the 6-1/8" interval in the referenced
sidetrack. We are presently drilling at ~82 degrees at ~11023' Permitted TD
for this well is 11356' MD and 6121' TVD at the top of the A sand.
This wellbore targets an undeveloped fault block, primarily in the C sand at the
toe of the well. The question came up today that if the C sand is poorly or
undeveloped in the block, should we drill to the A sand as a secondary target.
Recognizing the cost associated with a new penetration, the decision was made to
drill deeper through the A sand.
At this point it is anticipated the A sand will have a TVD thickness of ~80'
It is estimated our total additional MD will be 350 - 400' but will be less than
500' vertical section. This puts us less than the required 500' for a new
permit.
Please confirm your reciept of this email and let me know if you concur with
this plan.

Dear Mir. Alvord:
Enclosed is the approved application for permit to redrill the above referenced well.
The permit to redrill does not exempt you from obtaining additional permits required by law
from other governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all
other required permitting determinations are made.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with 20 AAC 25 035.
Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) must be given to allow a representative of the
Commission to witness a test of BOPE installed prior to drilling new hole. Notice may be given
by contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607.

Well Control
Well control equipment consisting of 5,000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer will be
installed and will be capable of handling maximum potential surface pressures.
Diverter, BOPE and mud fluid system schematics for Nabors 16e are on file with AOGCC.
Maximum anticipated surface pressure (MASP) while drilling the production hole is calculated using a KOP
leak-off of 13.5 ppg EMW (0.70 psi/fi) and a gas gradient of 0.11 psi/ft. This shows that formation
breakdown would occur at a surface pressure of 3,191 psi.
MASP = (5409 ft)(0.70 - 0.11)
= 3,191 psi
Based on offset well data, reservoir pressures in the Kuparuk sands in the vicinity of 1L pad are expected
to be -3,491 psi (0.54 psi/ft). Assuming a 150 psi overbalance is required to safely drill and trip in this
formation, then a required mud weight of 11.8 ppg can be predicted as the maximum mud weight needed
to safely drill in this formation, assuming a TVD of 5934'. Target (Kuparuk C)
(3491+150)/(0.052'5934)=11.8.
Hazards
· This well will penetrate ~358' of HRZ at 51° in the 6-1/8"'section. Good drilling Practices, including
optimized flow rates of 240-250 gpm, slower trip and connection' speeds, pumps at 40% when reaming
connections, larger nozzle area for reduced sidewall erosion, all will assure atrouble free interval.
' There is 1 known fault inthe reservoir interval, a'nticipated'to be'~60' throw. Lost circUlation across the '
faults will be controlled with non-productive zone LCM pills..' ., '". . ~ ·
· Lost Circulati°n across the fault, into the reserveir matrix, Or wellbore "breathing" into exposed shales
as a function of excessive ECD (equivalent circulating density)..': ECD .will:be controlled with flow.rate.
and pipe rotation, and monitored with the addition of a PWD (pressure,while-drilling) sub in the BHA.
Disposal ' ' '
Cuttings Should be processed with the Nabors 16e ball mill and transported to DS1R-18 for
injection. . .
Fluid Handling: All drilling and completion fluids and Other Class II waStes to DS1 R-18 for injection. ·
Haul all Class I waste to Pad 3 for disposal. Cement rinseate must be processed through the MI
unit prior to injection in DS1 R-18.

The well is designated as a horizontal sidetracked production well, exiting from the
existing 7" intermediate casing of the 1L-26 well. A 3-1/2" production liner will be
run and cemented and the well will be completed with 3-:1/2" tubing.
Please find attached information as required by 20 AAC 25.005 (a) and (c) for
your review. Pertinent information attached to this application includes the
following:
