This permit replaces the previous .application filed (6/11/02) that. Marathon recently requested to be removed (1/3/03). This well had been scheduled for 2002,' but was not funded. The proposed 2003 well has been changed to utilize Marathon's EXCAPE (casing conveyed perforating system) completion technology. In order to do this, larger hole sizes are required and the addition of an intermediate casing string is needed. The surface location specified reflects the as-bUilt survey of the location. The directional target was modified by 'less than 5' due to the slight change in surface location. Please note that Marathon is requesting a waiver for 20 ACC 25.035 (c) (1) (b) requiring the vent line to be as large as the hole drilled. Commission Anchorage Memorandum State of Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission To~ Re: Well File 202-128 Withdrawn Permit Action WELL: Beaver Ck Unit 11~(X API# Permit Withdrawn: 1/03/2003 50-133-20516-00 Date January 3, 2003 This memo will remain at the front of the subject well file. Our adopted conventions for assigning APl numbers, permit numbers and well names did not specifically address expired, cancelled and withdrawn permits. This omission has caused some inconsistencies in the treatment of these kinds of applications for permit to drill. Operators have asked us to adopt formal procedures for this class of permit application in order to prevent future database disparities. If a permit is withdrawn by an operator, the permit number of the subject permit will remain unchanged. The APl number and in some instances the well name reflect the number of preexisting redrills and or multilaterals in a well. In order to prevent confusing a withdrawn permit with an active well or multilateral these case sensitive well identifiers will be changed for withdrawn applications for permits to drill. The well number for a withdrawn permit is modified with an appended XX. WITHDRAWN PERMITS ARE RELEASABLE 2 years from the date on the letter received from the operator requesting the permit withdrawn. It appears that Marathon's Permit to Drill had the wrong top and total depth incorrect. They are exactly the same. Anyways, Steve has placed a call to the Engineer asking questions.
