Our adopted conventions for assigning API numbers, permit numbers and well names did not specifically address expired or cancelled permits. This omission has caused some inconsistencies in the treatment of these kinds of applications for permit to drill. Operators have asked us to adopt formal procedures for this class of permit application in order to prevent future database disparities. If a permit expires or is cancelled by an operator, the permit number of the subject permit will remain unchanged. The API number and in some instances the well name reflect the number of preexisting redrills and or multilaterals in a well. In order to prevent confusing a cancelled or expired permit with an active well or multilateral these case sensitive well identifiers will be changed for expired and cancelled applications for permits to drill. The API number for this cancelled or expired permit is modified so the eleven and twelfth digits is 95. The well name for a cancelled or expired permit is modified with an appended xx. These procedures are an addendum to the API numbering methods described in AOGCC staff memorandum "Multi-lateral (wellbore segment) Drilling Permit Procedures, revised December 29, 1995. AOGCC database has been changed to reflect these changes to this permit. CANCELED PERMITS ARE RELEASABLE 2 years from the date on the letter or email received from the operator requesting the permit canceled. The tail end of 3-348 had dipped into the Shublik. The plan was to whipstock out of the slotted liner just above the point where 3-348 entered the Shublik. This plan would have retained the large majority of 3-348 slotted liner in the Sag R. The new sidetrack would have been completed with a slotted liner that overlapped the existing slotted liner by a few feet. It is a mute point now, I guess, but I think that the sidetrack should have been nameçi 3-348L 1 since the majority of the original productin interval was to be retained. We saw pretty good evidence that the 3-348 liner is parted at the top of the Sag R. Even though N3S moved onto the well I don't see that 3-34C ever happened as we never got down to where the 3-34C whipstock was to be set.
