Hydrates generally occur just below the permafrost (+1- 1 ,800-ft TVDss) but may be present in shallower SV sands and also as deep as 3,000-ft. Be alert for the possibility of shallow gas and/or hydrates. Use recommended practices for drilling hydrates. · Watch out for deeper gravels below the permafrost or gravels that calve off within the permafrost and tend to drop out when the aerated hydrate gas cut mud is being circulated out. Maintain adequate viscosity. In the past, several Milne Pt wells have experienced stuck pipe from this situation. Lost Circulation · Offset wells encountered losses while running and cementing casing and only one well had losses while running a hole opener. Below is a list of the wells and the lost circulating problems associated with them. We do not expect losses while drilling this well. · MPS-27: Lost returns cementing 7.0-in casing at approx. 800-ft MD. SuccessfuI1.0-in top job. · MPS-21: Lost returns cementing 7.0-in casing. Used TAM port collar at 1,OOO-ft with still no returns. Successful 1.0-in top job. · H-06 (1995): Lost 100-bbl running 9-5/8" casing, good returns during cementing except no returns for last 20-bbl, contaminated cement to surface, cement 12 ft down, no top job. · H-05 (1995): Lost returns drilling at 5,360-ft (3,700-ft TVD), 40-bph to keep full, treated wi LCM pills for two days, total losses 838-bbl, made hole opener run with some continued losses. . H-05 (1995): Ran 9-5/8" casing, lost 46-bbl conditioning mud. . H-07 (1995): Lost 50-bbl running 9-5/8" casing. · E-24 (1998): Made hole opener run, worked tight spots 1965, 2620, 3465, 5900 and 6000, lost 72-bbl while circulating. · H-08A (1997): Had some minor losses while running 4-1/2" liner. 3 , Miln 'pint MPS-11 Well ProQram · Follow the LOST CIRCULATION DECISION MATRIX in the well program if fluid losses occur while drilling. Break circulation slowly in all instances and get up to recommended circulating rate slowly prior to cementing. Expected Pressures · It is unlikely there will be unexpected overpressure when drilling to the Schrader Bluff formation. Reservoir pressure is expected to be (8.65 Ib/gal EMW). In this well, the Schrader Bluff formation will be drilled with 9.1 to 9.2-lb/gal mud. · There is a possibility of overpressure from MPE-29i via transmissive faults. However, MPS-07 and MPS-09 were drilled into fault blocks between the MPS-11 location and the MPE-29 injector and both MPS-07 and MPS-09 were normally pressured. · Flow-check the well when the reservoir is entered. Pad Data Sheet · Please read the MPU S-Pad Data Sheet thoroughly. Breathing . N/A Hydrocarbons · Hydrocarbons will be encountered in the Ugnu through the Schrader Bluff. Free Gas may be encountered below the Upper Ugnu. Faults · No faults are predicted to be crossed along the well trajectory. · The well will be drilled into the graben between two faults. · There is a chance of a faulted OBO section; the well is placed to minimise risk. Hydrogen Sulfide / · Milne Point S-Pad is not designated as an H2S Pad. Anti-collision Issues · None, except for consideration of planned wells.
