Below is a brief summary of Atlantic Richfield Company's current plans for development of the Atlantic Richfield Company operated area of the Prudhoe Oil Pool. Atlantic Richfield Company's plan is to produce initially into the center and easternmost flow stations when the Prudhoe Bay Field is placed on production. We are requesting exceptions to Rule 2 consistent with this plan and only for wells needed to provide startup capacity for these two flow stations. A total of 58 wells are expected to be completed at the scheduled start of production inmid 1977, with 30 wells producing into Flow Station #1 (center) and 28 wells pro- ducing into Flow Station #2 (east). Our third flow station is scheduled to be placed on production one year after Flow Stations #1 and #2, or mid 178. The above 58 wells supplying crude to Flow Stations #1 and #2 will be drilled where the gross oil sand thickness is expected to exceed 2001. Additional wells drilled to supply crude to Flow Station #3 for its startup in mid '78 and to complete a 160-acre spacing pattern are planned to be drilled on an un- interrupted basis also within this 200' gross sand thickness. Development of the field, upstructure and downstructure of this 200' thickness, will follow and will be dependent on future reservoir studies and production performance of the res ervoi r. Except for the changes in spacing noted above, these wells will be drilled according to the pool rules and applicable statutes and regulations of the State of Alaska.
