However upon short tripping and attempting to clean up the well bore, the interval from 8600' to 8050' became unstable prohibiting reentry with the drilling assembly. This interval is identified as a rubblized zone associated with a fault crossing. Plans are to plug back and sidetrack from near the 9-5/8" shoe (4945'MD) to cross above this fault in the Coleville fomation and complete this well as a conventional fraced well vs the horizontal producer. The present plan will intercept the horizontal Kuparuk target approximately 450' to the north west of the current penetration or heel of the horizontal. Below is an outline of the proposed plug back and sidetrack operations. Also enclosed is a schematic of the proposed plug-back. Circulate and condition mud and wellbore until the hole is clean and mud is properly conditioned (reciprocate and rotate to help clean hole and break mud gels). Spot a 500' balanced 15.8 ppg 'G' cement P&A plug from -8000 to -7500' · If the plug is placed without losses or gains, and the hole remains static after the plug is placed, the plug will not be tagged. ç\ ~S ~ö..s. \-úS'ù~J~ '\ 'l.~ b · If there are losses, a second plug near bottom may be attempted within a few hours. 2. Be sure mud weight is uniform throughout well. · Spot a balanced 11 ppg Form-A-Plug pill from 5,650' to -5250'. 3. RIH to -5150' and start to wash down at 1 bpm looking for top of plug. Verify presence of plug with weight or pump pressure increase, however do not plug DP. · Once top of plug is verified, condition mud as required for spotting the cement kick-off plug. Circulate one hole volume at a minimum, and be sure mud weight is uniform throughout well before spotting plug. 4. Position DP immediately above the Form-A-Plug plug and spot a balanced 17 ppg 'G' cement kick-off plug from 5250 to 4800' (estimated depths). 5. Pull DP -300' above top cement plug and circulate minimum volume required to clean any cement from DP. POH for kick-off assembly. 6.
