Q COQ CO <-00 LO It Z _ co_ N M N` CO CD-. cn` = ORIGINAL Permit to Drill Summary of Operations KRU 3H-12A, 3H-12AL1, and 3H-12AL2 Laterals Coiled Tubing Drilling Overview: Well 3H-12 is currently completed in both the A and C sand,without a selective completion equipped with 3W tubing and 7"production casing.Three proposed A-sand CTD laterals will increase injection and reservoir exposure for the offset planned 3H-10 CTD production laterals. Prior to drilling, the existing C and A-Sand perfs in 3H-12 will be squeezed with cement to provide a means to kick out of the 7"casing. After plugging off the existing perfs with cement, a pilot hole will be drilled through the cement to 6,930' MD and a mechanical whipstock will be placed in the pilot hole at the planned kickoff point. The 3H-12A sidetrack will exit the 7"casing at 6,880' MD and will target the A2 sand south of the existing well with a 2,570' lateral. The hole will be completed with a 2%"slotted liner to the TD of 9,450' MD with an aluminum billet at 7,400' MD. The 3H-12AL1 lateral will kick off from the aluminum billet at 7,400' MD and will target the Al sand beneath the 3H-12A lateral with a 1,350' lateral. The hole will be completed with a 2%" slotted liner to the TD of 8,750' MD with an aluminum billet at 7,300' MD. The 3H-12AL2 lateral will kick off from the aluminum billet at 7,300' MD and will target the A3 sand south of the • existing well with an 2,200' lateral. The hole will be completed with a 2%" slotted liner to the TD of 9,500' MD with the final liner top located inside the 3W tubing at 6,710' MD. Maximum potential surface pressure is 2615 psi assuming a gas gradient to surface based on the potential pressure from the combined A and C-sand interval that measured 3205 psi at 5900'TVDss. • The annular preventer will be tested to 250 psi and 2500 psi. Reservoir Pressure A combined zone SBHP was obtained on this well. The C and A Sand SBHP as of 5/31/11 was 3205 psi at a depth of 5900' TVDss which is equivalent to a 10.4 ppg EMW. The well has been shut in since then to reduce reservoir pressure for CTD operations. Hazards • Maintain sufficient ECD to overbalance. A 9.7 ppg mud system and annular friction will supply enough pressure to overbalance the expected reservoir pressure. Choke pressure can be applied to if higher pressures are encountered as we near the surrounding injectors. • 3H-16 had the maximum H25 level at 625 ppm on the 3H pad as measured on Oct. '09. All H2S monitoring equipment will be operational. Managed Pressure Drilling Managed pressure drilling (MPD) techniques will be employed to provide constant bottom hole pressure by using 9.70 ppg drilling fluid in combination with annular friction losses and if needed applied surface pressure. Constant BHP will be utilized to reduce pressure fluctuations to help with hole stability. Applying annular friction and choke pressure also allows for the use of less expensive drilling fluid and minimizes fluid losses and/or fracturing at the end of the long well bores. A hydraulic choke for regulating surface pressure is located between the BOPE choke manifold and the mud pits, and will be independent of the BOPE choke. Using this technique will require deployment of the BHA with trapped wellhead pressure. Pressure deployment of the 2%" BHA will be accomplished utilizing the 2%" pipe rams and slip rams. The SSSV in well 3H-12 is operable for liner running operations, so the well may or may not be loaded with completion fluid prior to running slotted liner depending on maintaining a stable bottom hole pressure with potential losses to formation/faults. Operating parameters and fluid densities will be adjusted based on real-time bottom hole pressure measurements while drilling and shale behavior. While drilling and circulating at 1.5 bpm with 2" e-coil, head from the 9.70 mud (3006 psi), plus an estimated 654 psi of annular friction (assuming friction of 95 psi/1000 ft)will provide 3660 psi BHP (11.8 ppg EMW) and will be overbalanced to the reservoir. More pressure can be applied to overbalance the reservoir. When circulation is shut down, the mud will be underbalanced to the reservoir pressure. However maintaining -654 psi at surface when the pumps are shut down will maintain a constant 11.8 ppg EMW to promote wellbore stability. Quarter-Mile Injection Review The following wells lay within one-quarter mile of the proposed 3H-12 CTD laterals. The distances noted are the closest proximity between these wellbores and any point along the planned CTD laterals. - 3H-10B (active producer) - Currently a waivered well (7/15/2009) with IAxOA communication that was sidetracked in 2011 as a rotary setup for CTD operations. Well 3H-10B is a Kuparuk C-sand and A- sand production well equipped with 4'/2"tubing and 4'/2" production liner. There are four proposed A- sand CTD laterals to increase reservoir exposure and offset the planned 3H-12 CTD injection laterals. Prior to rig arrival, a 4'/2" mechanical whipstock will be set at the planned kickoff point of 6045' MD in 3H-10B. After setting the whipstock we will down-squeeze around the whipstock to permanently abandon the A-sand and C-sand perfs. - 314-13A (active producer) - Currently a waivered well (1/20/2004) with IAxOA communication that was sidetracked in 1997. Perforations in the C and A sands through a 3-1/2" liner, from a 7" production casing. The last pressure was 2068 PSI (AC) in December 2009. There is a large fault interpreted to be sealing based on seismic between 3H-13A and 3H-12. Pressure data would suggest the fault is sealing also.
