Use desanders and desilters to reduce drilled solids. Add water to aid in solids removal.. 4. Run 20" 94#/ft. H-40 ST casing with Baker guide shoe, then duplex float collar on top of first joint. Place centralizer on first joint. Install landing sub (i.e. fluted hanger) at 267 feet, which will place the adapter and landing sub (with L.H. thread) at a point 5' below mud line, landing pipe when shoe is at 375' KB (leaving 25' over hole). Pick up hanger assembly in one 30' , joint consisting of 10' casing nipple on bottom, fluted hanger, 4' casing nipple, adapter and landing sub, 10' casing nipple. Tack weld landing string. Hang off 20" in rotary table when shoe is at 375' KB, run inside 20" with float collar stab-in nipple on drill pipe to cement. Mix 580 sacks of 14.8 lb/gal Class G ' Cement slurry, plus 2% CaC12, 6.~2 gals. water per sack, 1.33 cu. ft. slurry per sack; then tail in with 100 sacks neat and 2% CaC12. Slurry weight 16 lb/gal, 4.75 gal. water per sack, 1.1 cu. ft. slurry per sack. Note: Calculations based on 100% excess cement for open hole interval. Inlet~water may be used. Run in with tubing between 20" and 30" and wash out any excess cement above 20" fluted hanger. Pull tubing and DP strings. 5. Cut 20" 8-3/4" above top of 30", slip on and weld 20" casing head (X 20" Series 600 flange); then pressure test seal. Note: This bowl is also welded to 30". Nipple up 20" Hydril, pressure test Hydril and casing to 500 psig for 10 mins. Install bowl protector. Drill out when nippled up. 6~ Drill 12-1/4" hole to 2000' KB with 25,000-50,000 lbs. wt., 150-180 rpm (7" DC). Drill with same mud system, adding lost circulation material~if required. Totcos at 1200' and 2000'. Mud logger to be in operation. Collect three sets of samples at 20' intervals.~ 7. Remov~ wellhead bowl protector. Run 9-5/8" 36# J-55 ST surface casing with Halliburton float shoe and then self- fill differential collar on top of first joint. Place one centralizer on the first and second joints; Howco weld on first two joints. Install the.~3%3/8" and 9-5/8" fluted hangers at 1868' s° they will land ih 20" hub when shoe is at 1975' KB. The 13-3/8" fluted hanger is~to be installed on the 9-5/8" hanger and welded to insure it will not come off while running in' the hole. The two ~hangers must be run together~as no 13-3/8" casing is run and the 9-5/8" hanger landing sub assembly cannot seat in the 20'f hub. Pick up the fluted hangers as part of a fabricated 30' section which includes the adapter and landing sub assembly. Tack weld landing string. Drift the casing as it is picked off the rack. Mix 470 sacks Class G cement plus 10% bentonite, 12.8 lbs/gal, 1.54 cu. ft. water/sack, ~2.0 cu. ft. slurry/sack. Tail in with 200 sacks neat Class G cement, 16#/gal. slurry, 1.1~cu. ft/sack, 4.75 gals. water/sack. Note: Calculations are based on 50% excess cement for open hole interval. Inlet water may be used. Use two-plug procedure. Back off landing string at left hand thread in landing sub assembly and flush out any excess cement by pumping down landing string. Remove 20" Hydril, -3- install 20" Series 600 X 14" Series 1500 spool, placing 13-3/8" reducer bushing between this and the 20" spool. Install 12" X 9-5/8" casing hanger. Run in lock down screws. Cut off9-5/8" pipe 5~a'' above face of flange. Install 9-5/8" reducer bushing plus 'one 14" Series 500 spool, then 14" Serial 1500 X 13-5/8" 5000 psi WP spool, then 13-5/8" 5000~ WP .X 14" Serial 1500 adapter flange. Pressure test seal. Nipple up 14" Series 1500 BOP assembly as shown in the attached sketch. Pressure test BOP's, then casing to 1000 psi for 10 minutes~ ~'~ Install bowl protector. 8. Drill 8-3/4" hole to 8000' KB with 35,000 - 60,000 lbs. 120 - 160 rpm, decreasing to 90 - 120 rpm, using 6" DC string. Place aluminum button blade stabilizers at 60' and 120'. Suggested bit program is as follows: Weight Size Type Depth Fee~ 1000# RPM 8-3/4" X3A 2000/3000 1,000 35/60 120/160 " X3A 3000/4500 1,500 35/60 120/160 " X3A 4500/5500 1,000 35/60 I20/160 " X3 5500/6000 500 35/60 100/150 " X3 6000/6500 500 35/60 100/150 " XIG 6500/7000 500 35/60 90/120 " X1G 7000/7500 500 35/60 90/120 " x1G 7500/7750 250 35/60 90/120 " X1G 7750/8000 250 35/60 90/120 Suggested Mud Program is as follows: 2000'-8000' Type of mud - Low solids non-dispersed Convert mud used on upper hole inside casing prior to drilling in open hole as follows: Fluid Depth Weight Visc. IMCO-Gel will be used for viscosity, Cypan will be used for fluid loss control and Benex will be used to extend the yield of the IMCO-Gel and help settle out drill solids Special care should be taken to obtain the proper ratio of drill solids to bentonite in the system. In order to maintain proper ratio in the system, it will be necessary to use Methylene Blue checks for concentration of benton- ite in #/bbl. Should hole cleaning problems arise, it is recommended that a high viscosity pill be made in the suction pit and pumped through the hole, then discarded when it reaches the surface. This will normally clean up washed out areas and reduce drag. Solids should be held to 3-6% for the most effective hole penetration. This will re- quire the following: (1) Pits be cleaned regularly. (2)" Desilters and desanders be run as much as possible. In order for the most effective removal of solids to occur, ample surface area should be made available for settling. It may be necessary to raise'weight for high pressure gas zones. If this occurs an increase in Benex additions will be necessary to coat the barite particles with the .polymer to maintain the low solids aspect of the mud. Raising the weight should only be as an end result. Do' not raise weight .for small high pressure low-volume kicks. . Gilsonite (Beaver Dam) will be used as needed for hole stability. When mixing this product, care. should be taken to mix it slowly and through the hopper. We do not recommend b'arite usage for dry jobs. Decide location of centralizers based on zones to be tested. No mud line suspension will be used for this string. Land shoe 60' below lowest zone to be tested. Drift the casing as it is picked off the rack. Cement 500' above zones to be tested, using neat Class G. cement plus 1% CFR-2, with 20% excess for open hole interval. Use 0.67 'cu. ft. of water per sack for slurry volume of 1.15 cu. ft./sack and weight 15.8 lbs/ gal. Note: Consider use of Halliburton DV multiple stage cementing equipment if zones to be tested cover a long vertical interval. 10. Pick up BOP, install 12" x 5~" casing hanger; cut casing 5~" above-flange. Install 5~" reducer bushing in casing 'bowl; land BOP's and nipple up. Pressure test hanger seal and BOP. 11.
