The report includes surveillance data associated with waterflood projects and development activities. The time period covered is January through December 2004. Order 205 for the Kuparuk River Oil Pool requires the Operator to submit the following for the previous calendar year: · A tabulation of reservoir pressure and injection pressure data on wells in the waterflood permit area. · A tabulation of all production logs, injection well surveys, and injection well performance data. · Produced fluid volumes (oil, gas, and water) and injected fluid volumes reported by month and on a cumulative basis. Order 477 for the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool requires the Operator to submit the following for the previous calendar year: · Progress of enhanced recovery project(s) implementation and reservoir management summary. · Voidage balance by month of produced fluids (oil, gas, and water) and injected fluids and cumulative status for each producing interval. · Summary and analysis of reservoir pressure surveys within the pool. · Results and where appropriate, analysis of production and injection logging surveys, tracer surveys and observation well surveys, and any other special monitoring. · Review of pool production allocation factors and issues over the prior year. · Future development plans, · Review of Annual Plan of Operations and Development. Order 423 for the Sag River Oil Pool requires the Operator to submit the following for the previous calendar year: · Progress of enhanced recovery project implementation and reservoir management summary including engineering and geotechnical parameters. · Voidage balance by month of produced fluids and injected fluids and cumulative status. · Analysis of reservoir pressure wit hin the pool. · Results and where appropriate, analysis of production logging surveys, tracer surveys and observation well surveys. · Review of pool allocation factors over the prior year. · Future development plans. Each of the three producing reservoirs is reported in a separate section. Section 1 General Information List of Exhibits Milne Point Unit Schematic 1-A Overview Statistical Summary 1-B Kuparuk Pressure Map 1-C Schrader Bluff Pressure Map 1-D Sag River Pressure Map 1-E Overview Exhibit 1-A shows the participating areas of the three waterflood projects in the Milne Point Unit: the Kuparuk River Oil Pool, the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool and the Sag River Oil Pool. A miscible water-alternating-gas (MWAG) process was certified as an enhanced oil recovery project for the Milne Point Kuparuk reservoir on September 15, 1998. The MWAG process was in effect from December 2001 to December 2002. Since December 2002, a new enhanced oil recovery method, US -WAG (water-alternating-gas injection in under-saturated reservoir), has been in effect and will continue to be implemented in the Milne Point Kuparuk reservoir. BP continued an active development program in 2004, focused on redevelopment of the Tract 14 area in the Schrader Bluff reservoir plus infill drilling in the Kuparuk reservoir. Fourteen wells were drilled and completed in the Schrader Bluff reservoir, including nine new producers, one sidetracked producer, two new injectors and two sidetracked or redrilled injectors, as of December 31, 2004, although two injectors were not put on injection until 2005. Six wells were drilled in the Kuparuk reservoir, including three new producers, one sidetracked producer, and two new injectors. Exhibit 1-B provides well count, production, and injection statistics for Kuparuk River Oil Pool, the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool, and the Sag River Oil Pool. During the report period of January through December 2004, field production averaged 51.2 MBOD, 31.9 MMSCFD (GOR 623 SCF/STB) and 58.4 MBWD (water cut 53%). Waterflood injection during this period averaged 100.3 MBWD with 22 MMSCFD of gas injection. Field voidage replacement ratio was 0.86 for 2004. As of December 31, 2004, cumulative water injection in the Kuparuk River Oil Pool was 294.9 MMSTB, while cumulative gas injection was 74.5 BSCF. Cumulative production was 180.4 MMSTB oil, 91.7 BSCF gas, and 138.3 MMSTB water. From first production to December 31, 2004, cumulative production exceeded injection by 23.3 MMRB. As of December 31, 2004, cumulative water injection in the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool was 56.1 MMSTB. Cumulative production was 37.6 MMSTB oil, 23.7 BSCF gas, and 14.8 MMSTB water. From first production to December 31, 2004, cumulative production exceeded injection by 23.7 MMRB. Cumulative water injection in the Sag River Oil Pool from startup through December 2004 was 1.1 MMSTB, while cumulative gas injection was 0.249 BSCF. Cumulative production was 1.5 MMSTB oil, 1.5 BSCF gas, and 1.5 MMSTB water. As of December 31, 2004, cumulative production exceeded injection by 2.8 MMRB. Exhibits 1-C, 1-D, and 1-E provide an aerial view of reservoir pressures throughout the Kuparuk River, the Schrader Bluff, and the Sag River Oil Pools. The locations of production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood patterns specifically identified. There were 93 producing wells and 53 injection wells that contributed to production/injection during 2004. Exhibit 2-B shows a production plot for the Kuparuk River reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2004. The Kuparuk River Oil Pool oil production averaged 30.0 MSTBD for 2004 compared to 31.8 MSTBD in 2003. This represents an oil production decrease of 5.7 % in 2004. Water production averaged 48.5 MBWD in 2004 and 43.0 MBWD in 2003, an increase of 12.8%. Cumulative production since waterflood startup through the end of 2004 is 180.4 MMSTB of oil, 91.7 BSCF gas, and 138.3 MMSTB of water. Exhibit 2-C shows an injection plot for the Kuparuk River reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2004. Water and gas injection rates averaged 62.1 MBWD and 21.8 MMSCFD for 2004. Injection rates in 2003 averaged 60.8 MBWD and 21.3 MMSCFD. This represents an increase in water injection of 2.1% and an increase in gas injection of 2.4%. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2004 is 294.9 MMSTB and cumulative gas injection is 74.5 BSCF. Water cut increased from 57.5% in 2003 to 61.8% in 2004. Water cut continues to increase in the Kuparuk River reservoir as the waterflood patterns mature. GOR increased from 459 SCF/STB in 2003 to 597 SCF/STB in 2004. Exhibit 2-D presents a summary of the pertinent production information for the Kuparuk River Oil Pool waterflood. Exhibit 2-E shows a monthly breakdown of production and injection data for the report period. This data shows that the voidage replacement ratio averaged 0.89 in 2004. The reservoir voidage calculation does not include the water influx from the aquifer, so the under-injection volume is overstated in this report. Exhibit 2-F presents the reservoir pressure data for the Kuparuk River wells taken during 2004. Reservoir pressure was approximately 3099 psi as of December 2004 using an average of only pressures obtained in 2004. Reservoir pressures for 2004 were obtained in 51% of producers and 42% of injectors. The average value for 2004 is a decrease from the 2003 average of 3215 psi. The average calculated for December 2003 used pressures for all wells regardless of the year in which they were obtained. Exhibit 2-G provides a mo nthly summary of individual well injection rate and injection pressure data for all of the Kuparuk River Oil Pool injectors. The locations of production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood patterns specifically identified. As of year end 2004, there were 59 producing wells and 39 injection wells that contributed to production/injection during 2004. Note that the count of 39 injectors counts wells with a long string and short string completion as a single well. If long strings and short strings within a well were count ed separately, there would be 50 injectors. Exhibit 3-B shows a production plot for the Schrader Bluff reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2004. The Schrader Bluff Oil Pool oil production averaged 21.0 MSTBD for 2004 compared to 19.2 MSTBD in 2003. This represents an oil production increase of 9% in 2004. Water production averaged 9.9 MBWD in 2004. Cumulative production since waterflood startup through the end of 2004 is 37.6 MMSTB of oil, 23.7 BSCF of gas, and 14.8 MMSTB of water. Exhibit 3-C shows an injection plot for the Schrader Bluff reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2004. The waterflood injection rate averaged 37.9 MBWD for 2004. The water injection rate in 2003 averaged 28.6 MBWD. This represents an increase in water injection of 33% in 2004 which is partly due to the new injectors, 2 new and 2 sidetracks. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2003 is 56.1 MMSTB. Since December 2003, the waterflood balance has improved from a cumulative under-injection of 2.9MMRB to 2.4MMRB. The high under-injection volume in the Schrader Bluff reservoir is mainly due to the fact that a large number of producers are in small hydraulic units where drilling injectors cannot be justified economically. In the supported water flood patterns, under-injection is minimal. The average voidage replacement ratio, or VRR, for 2004 was 0.80. Water cut increased from 26% in 2003 to 32% in 2004. The new, low watercut S Pad wells essentially offset the watercut from the more mature Schrader Bluff wells in 2003. In 2004, the number of new wells with low watercuts was not enough to offset the increase in watercut as the field matures as a whole. GOR decreased from 870 SCF/STB in 2003 to 664 SCF/STB in 2004, primarily based on the increased injection in the S pad area. Exhibit 3-D presents a summary of the pertinent production information for the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool. Exhibit 3-E shows a monthly breakdown of production and injection data for the report period. Exhibit 3-F presents the reservoir pressure data for the Schrader Bluff wells taken during 2004. Average reservoir pressure was approximately 1606 psi as of December 2004, using an average of only pressures obtained in 2004. This is a decrease from the average of December 2003 of 1713 psi. The average given for December 2003 used pressures for all wells regardless of year they were obtained. Exhibit 3-G provides a monthly summary of individual well injection rate and injection pressur e data for all of the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool injectors. Exhibit 3-H provides daily oil, gas, and water allocation factors for the Milne Point facility for 2004. The oil allocation factor for 2004 averaged 0.88 with a standard deviation of 0.032. The gas allocation factor averaged 1.27 with a standard deviation of 0.078, while the water allocation factor averaged 1.42 with a standard deviation of 0.121. Future development plans for the Schrader Bluff oil pool in 2005 include injection redevelopment in the S pad and Tract 14 areas with some infill drilling targets as well. Development of the downdip areas are also included in the plans for 2005. In 2005 plans are to continue to obtain injection profiles on the required number of injectors as well as any additional profiles required for reservoir management. Geochemical production analysis will continue on the Schrader Bluff producers to determine production splits. Water injection will also be managed with the use of selective single injectors utilizing Waterflood Regulating Valves. Summary The Sag River waterflood area is shown in Exhibit 4-A. A Participating Area for the Sag has been applied for and the decision letter is pending. The locations of the active production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood pattern specifically identified. During 2004, there was only one Sag production well (F-33A) and one injection well (F-73A) that contributed to production/injection. Exhibit 4-B shows a production plot for the Sag River reservoir covering the entire history through December 2004. There was no production from the reservoir in most of 1999 and the entire year of 2000 because it was no t economical to repair the frequently failed ESP’s. At the end of 2000, one well (C -23) was converted to a jet pump completion and in 2001, one well (F-33A) was side- tracked and completed with a jet pump completion, and another well (F-73A) was deepened fr om an idle Kuparuk well into the Sag River reservoir as an injector. The Sag River Oil Pool oil production averaged 130 STBD, gas production averaged 76 MSCFD, and water production averaged 4 STBD in 2004. Cumulative production through the end of 2004 is 1.5 MMSTB of oil, 1.5 BSCF of gas, and 1.5 MMSTB of water. The average GOR was 585 SCF/STB in 2004. Exhibit 4-C shows an injection plot for the Sag River reservoir through December 2004. The only injector (F-73A) started water injection in July 2002. The waterflood injection rate averaged 253 BWD and 192 MSCFD for 2004. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2004 is 1.1 MMSTB and cumulative gas injection for the same period is 0.249 BSCF. Cumulative reservoir voidage was 4.1 MMRB at the end of 2004. The cumulative under-injection volume in the Sag reservoir is 2.8 MMBRD, which is improved over 2003. In 2004, there was more injection into the Sag than voidage due to F-33A being SI for 8 months for wellwork and low rates. Pla ns in 2005 are to continue to assess connectivity between the injector F-73Ai to F-33A and possibly inject if appropriate. Exhibit 4-F presents the reservoir pressure data for the Sag River wells taken during 2004. Average reservoir pressure was approximately 3354 psi as of December 2004, which is increased from 2722 psi in 2003. The average calculated for December 2003 used pressures for all wells regardless of the year in which they were obtained while the 2004 average uses only data acquired in 2004. There were 24 existing Kuparuk multi- sand injectors in 2004. Hence, we needed to perform injection survey on 8 of the 24 existing injectors. There were 18 existing Schrader Bluff multi-sand injectors in 2004. Hence, we needed to perform injection survey on 6 of the 18 existing injectors. Ideally, injection wells chosen for surveys are those that have not had a recent injection survey, or wells where we think the survey information would be valuable. A number of multi-zone injectors have mechanical issues (i.e. screens, obstructions) that prevent obtaining surveys, so the well set is somewhat limited. Normally a Spinner/Temperature/Pressure (STP) survey is run since such a survey provides reliable information for most of our wells. This can be done with memory gauges on slickline or with E-line. Water Flow Logs (WFL) are run on wells with low water velocities where an STP survey would not be accurate. Since the majority of producers at Milne Point are completed with ESP’s, few production logs are run. In place of production logs, the Schrader Bluff field has utilized geochemical fingerprinting to determine production splits from the N, OA, and OB. The process is only applicable to certain wells based on the oil samples that have been obtained from the different zones in different hydraulic units. In 2004 a total of 17 producers were sampled and production splits determined from geochemical analysis. Exhibit 5-A is a summary of the Milne Point field well surveillance performed in 2004 on both producers and injectors. A total of 23 injectors were surveyed in the Kuparuk River and Schrader Bluff reservoirs in 2004. A number of these wells needed coile d tubing clean out befo re we could get the tools down. No injection survey was needed in the Sag River Oil Pool because it is a single zone reservoir. 2005 surveillance plans are similar to 2004. In addition to obtaining injection surveys on 1/3 of multi-sand injectors, we will likely obtain one or two single zone Kuparuk IPROFs to determine the distribution of flow between the lobes.
