Section 1 General Information List of Exhibits Milne Point Unit Schematic 1-A Overview Statistical Summary 1-B Kuparuk Pressure Map 1-C Schrader Bluff Pressure Map 1-D Sag River Pressure Map 1-E Overview Exhibit 1-A shows the participating areas of the three waterflood projects in the Milne Point Unit: the Kuparuk River Oil Pool, the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool and the Sag River Oil Pool. A miscible water-alternating-gas (MWAG) process was certified as an enhanced oil recovery project for the Milne Point Kuparuk reservoir on September 15, 1998. The MWAG process was in effect from December 2001 to December 2002. Since December 2002, a new enhanced oil recovery method, US-WAG (water-alternating-gas injection in under-saturated reservoir), has been in effect and will continue to be implemented in the Milne Point Kuparuk reservoir. During 2005, permitting was completed for implementation of a pilot WAG program in the Schrader Bluff. In 2006, the pilot commenced with injection into two E-pad injectors. BP continued an active development program in 2005, focused on development of the E-pad area in the Schrader Bluff reservoir plus infill drilling in the Kuparuk and Schrader Bluff reservoirs. Six wells were drilled and completed in the Schrader Bluff reservoir, including three new producers, two new injectors and one sidetracked or redrilled injector, as of December 31, 2005, although one injector was not put on injection until 2006. Five wells were drilled in the Kuparuk reservoir, including two new producers and three new injectors. Of the new injectors, one was drilled as a water injector and two were drilled as WAG injectors, although neither of the WAG injectors has injected gas yet and one was not put on injection until 2006. Exhibit 1-B provides well count, production, and injection statistics for Kuparuk River Oil Pool, the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool, and the Sag River Oil Pool. During the report period of January through December 2005, field production averaged 43.9 MBOD, 31.0 MMSCFD (GOR 706 SCF/STB) and 56.4 MBWD (water cut 56%). Waterflood injection during this period averaged 86.2 MBWD with 21 MMSCFD of gas injection. Field voidage replacement ratio was 0.81 for 2005. As of December 31, 2005, cumulative water injection in the Kuparuk River Oil Pool was 315.3 MMSTB, while cumulative gas injection was 82.1 BSCF. Cumulative production was 189.5 MMSTB oil, 97.4 BSCF gas, and 153.3 MMSTB water. From first production to December 31, 2005, cumulative production exceeded injection by 23.1 MMRB. As of December 31, 2005, cumulative water injection in the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool was 67.1 MMSTB. Cumulative production was 44.5 MMSTB oil, 29.2 BSCF gas, and 20.3 MMSTB water. From first production to December 31, 2005, cumulative production exceeded injection by 31.3 MMRB. Cumulative water injection in the Sag River Oil Pool from startup through December 2005 was 1.1 MMSTB, while cumulative gas injection was 0.324 BSCF. Cumulative production was 1.6 MMSTB oil, 1.6 BSCF gas, and 1.6 MMSTB water. As of December 31, 2005, cumulative production exceeded injection by 3.0 MMRB. Exhibits 1-C, 1-D, and 1-E provide an aerial view of reservoir pressures throughout the Kuparuk River, the Schrader Bluff, and the Sag River Oil Pools. The locations of production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood patterns specifically identified. There were 91 producing wells and 56 injection wells that contributed to production/injection during 2005. Three wells had small volumes reported incorrectly, but these wells are not included in the active well count and are listed in the shut in well report (Exhibit 6A). Exhibit 2-B shows a production plot for the Kuparuk River reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2005. The Kuparuk River Oil Pool oil production averaged 26.1 MSTBD for 2005 compared to 30.0 MSTBD in 2004. This represents an oil production decrease of 13.0% in 2005. Water production averaged 43.1 MBWD in 2005 and 48.5 MBWD in 2004, a decrease of 11.1%. Cumulative production since waterflood startup through the end of 2005 is 189.5 MMSTB of oil, 97.4 BSCF gas, and 153.3 MMSTB of water. Exhibit 2-C shows an injection plot for the Kuparuk River reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2005. Water and gas injection rates averaged 55.9 MBWD and 20.8 MMSCFD for 2005. Injection rates in 2004 averaged 62.1 MBWD and 21.8 MMSCFD. This represents a decrease in water injection of 10.0% and a decrease in gas injection of 4.6%. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2005 is 315.3 MMSTB and cumulative gas injection is 82.1 BSCF. Water cut increased from 61.8% in 2004 to 62.3% in 2005. Water cut continues to increase in the Kuparuk River reservoir as the waterflood patterns mature. GOR increased from 579 SCF/STB in 2004 to 620 SCF/STB in 2005. The GOR has increased primarily due to increased gas cycling with the increasing maturity of the USWAG patterns. Exhibit 2-D presents a summary of the pertinent production information for the Kuparuk River Oil Pool waterflood. Exhibit 2-E shows a monthly breakdown of production and injection data for the report period. This data shows that the voidage replacement ratio averaged 0.92 in 2005. The reservoir voidage calculation does not include the water influx from the aquifer, so the under-injection volume is overstated in this report. Exhibit 2-F presents the reservoir pressure data taken during 2005 for the Kuparuk River wells. The average of the pressures obtained in 2005 was 2970 psi (note that this is not a volumetric average reservoir pressure). This change is a decrease from the 2004 average of 3099 psi. This decrease is likely overstated due to two factors. First, 132 pressures were obtained in 107 wells. By averaging multiple pressures in individual wells, the average pressure would be 3052 psi (only 47 psi difference from 2004). Also, reservoir pressures for 2005 were obtained in 90% of producers and 45% of injectors. This is a higher ratio of producer pressures than injector pressures than those obtained in 2004 and would tend to bring the average pressure to a lower value. Exhibit 2-G provides a monthly summary of individual well injection rate and injection pressure data for all of the Kuparuk River Oil Pool injectors. Factors 3-H Schrader Bluff Oil Pool Waterflood Project Summary The Schrader Bluff Oil Pool waterflood area is shown in Exhibit 3-A. The locations of production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood patterns specifically identified. As of year end 2005, there were 54 producing wells and 45 injection wells that contributed to production/injection during 2005. Note that the count of 45 injectors counts wells with a long string and short string completion as a single well. If long strings and short strings within a well were counted separately, there would be 60 injectors. Exhibit 3-B shows a production plot for the Schrader Bluff reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2005. The Schrader Bluff Oil Pool oil production averaged 17.5 MSTBD for 2005 compared to 21.0 MSTBD in 2004. This represents an oil production decrease of 17% in 2005. Much of this oil decline occurred in early 2005 following a series of early water breakthrough events. These have been termed Matrix Bypass Events (MBEs) as they are believed to be associated with non-matrix flow of water through injection well fractures and/or wormholes back into the formation from the production wells. Water production averaged 12.9 MBWD in 2005 compared to 9.9 MBWD in 2004. Cumulative production since waterflood startup through the end of 2005 is 43.6 MMSTB of oil, 28.9 BSCF of gas, and 20.2 MMSTB of water. Exhibit 3-C shows an injection plot for the Schrader Bluff reservoir covering the entire project history through December 2005. The waterflood injection rate averaged 30.2 MBWD for 2005. Water injection in 2004 averaged 37.9 MBWD. This represents a decrease in water injection of 20% in 2005 which is partly due to an operational change to manage injection just at or under the fracture gradient to avoid matrix bypass events. This change has been successful in mitigating further MBEs, but has reduced the voidage replacement during 2005. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2005 is 67.1 MMSTB. Since December 2004, the waterflood balance has dropped from a cumulative under-injection of 2.4MMRB to 3.1MMRB. The high under-injection volume in the Schrader Bluff reservoir is due to several factors: in the early days of the recent developments, there was some pre-production, a number of producers are in small hydraulic units where drilling injectors cannot be justified economically, as well as the injection reduction to mitigate the MBEs. In the supported water flood patterns, under-injection is minimal. Additionally, free gas is included in the voidage calculations which lends to the VRR being conservatively low. The average voidage replacement ratio, or VRR, for 2005 was 0.63. Water cut increased from 32% in 2004 to 42% in 2005. In 2005, the number of new wells with low watercuts was insignificant in relation to the increase in watercut as the waterflood matures as a whole. GOR increased from 664 SCF/STB in 2004 to 824 SCF/STB in 2005, primarily based on the decrease in injection to mitigate matrix bypass events. Exhibit 3-D presents a summary of the pertinent production information for the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool. Exhibit 3-E shows a monthly breakdown of production and injection data for the report period. Exhibit 3-F presents the reservoir pressure data for the Schrader Bluff wells taken during 2005. The average of the pressures obtained in 2005 was 1619 psi (note that this is not a volumetric average). This change is an increase from the 2004 average of 1606 psi. This average pressure is not likely fully representative of the current pressure based on the drop in injection during the majority of the year. Pressures taken during the first part of the year would not have been affected by the injection drop. Also, the number of analyzed pressures for injectors (Pressure Fall Offs) increased this year, as well as a number of single zone pressures, and may have contributed to the higher pressures. Exhibit 3-G provides a monthly summary of individual well injection rate and injection pressure data for all of the Schrader Bluff Oil Pool injectors. Exhibit 3-H provides daily oil, gas, and water allocation factors for the Milne Point facility for 2005. The oil allocation factor for 2005 averaged 0.84 with a standard deviation of 0.14. The gas allocation factor averaged 1.20 with a standard deviation of 0.37, while the water allocation factor averaged 1.20 with a standard deviation of 0.32. Future development plans for the Schrader Bluff oil pool include ongoing infill and pattern redevelopment in the S-pad and Tract 14 areas, potential expansion into undeveloped areas in the North West area of the pool, potential expansion of the E-pad lean gas injection pilot if successful, and the startup of a hot water flood at S-pad. 2006 development activities will be focused on reservoir management and injection optimization in the existing pattern areas, assessment of the NW Schrader development area and a potential pilot development, surveillance of the E-pad gas injection pilot, and startup of the S-pad thermal flood with the completion of the S-90 Hot Ivishak source water well and the associated surface facilities. With active development and infill planning, we will continue to evaluate our LTSI wellbores for use in recompletions, conversions, and sidetracks. In 2006 plans are to continue to obtain injection profiles on the required number of injectors as well as any additional profiles required for reservoir management. Geochemical production analysis will continue on the Schrader Bluff producers to determine production splits between the separate Schrader Bluff horizons. Water injection within the Schrader Bluff will continue to be managed with the use of selective single injectors utilizing Waterflood Regulating Valves or dual-string injectors. The Sag River waterflood area is shown in Exhibit 4-A. A Participating Area for the Sag was approved in 2005. The locations of the active production and injection wells are shown with the waterflood pattern specifically identified. During 2005, there was only one Sag production well (F-33A) and one injection well (F-73A) that contributed to production/injection. Exhibit 4-B shows a production plot for the Sag River reservoir covering the entire history through December 2005. There was no production from the reservoir in most of 1999 and the entire year of 2000 because it was not economical to repair the frequently failed ESP’s. At the end of 2000, one well (C-23) was converted to a jet pump completion and in 2001, one well (F- 33A) was side-tracked and completed with a jet pump completion, and another well (F-73A) was deepened from an idle Kuparuk well into the Sag River reservoir as an injector. The Sag River Oil Pool oil production averaged 243 STBD, gas production averaged 345 MSCFD, and water production averaged 395 STBD in 2005. Cumulative production through the end of 2005 is 1.6 MMSTB of oil, 1.6 BSCF of gas, and 1.6 MMSTB of water. The average water cut was 61.9% and the average GOR was 1416 SCF/STB in 2005. Exhibit 4-C shows an injection plot for the Sag River reservoir through December 2005. The only injector (F-73A) started water injection in July 2002. The waterflood injection rate averaged 46 BWD and 205 MSCFD for 2005. Cumulative water injection since waterflood startup through the end of 2005 is 1.1 MMSTB and cumulative gas injection for the same period is 0.324 BSCF. Cumulative reservoir voidage was 4.4 MMRB at the end of 2005. The cumulative under-injection volume in the Sag reservoir is 3.0 MMBRD. In 2005, F-33A was on line for 7 months and F-73A was shut in for 10 months. Plans in 2006 are to continue to assess connectivity between the injector F-73Ai to F-33A and possibly inject if appropriate. Exhibit 4-D presents a summary of the pertinent production information for the Sag River Oil Pool. Exhibit 4-E shows a monthly breakdown of production and injection data for the report period. Exhibit 4-F presents the reservoir pressure data for the Sag River wells taken during 2005. Average reservoir pressure was approximately 3432 psi as of December 2005, which is increased from 3354 psi in 2004. The averages calculated for December 2005 and December 2004 used only data acquired in the year of interest. Exhibit 4-G provides a monthly summary of the injection rate and injection pressure data for the Sag River Oil Pool injector. Exhibit 3-H (Schrader Bluff Oil Pool) provides daily oil, gas, and water allocation factors for the Milne Point facility for 2004. Injection/Production Well Surveillance As per Conservation Order 205 (Kuparuk River Oil Pool) and Order 477 (Schrader Bluff Oil Pool), the Milne Point Operator runs injection surveys on at least one third of the existing multiple sand injectors annually and on new multiple sand injectors. There were 24 existing Kuparuk multi-sand injectors in 2005. Hence, we needed to perform injection survey on 8 of the 24 existing injectors. We obtained surveys on 8 of the 24 injectors. We also obtained two single zone injector surveys. There were 26 existing Schrader Bluff multi-sand injectors in 2005. Hence, we needed to perform injection surveys on 9 of the 26 existing injectors. We ran 12 injection surveys in 2005; however, we were unable to obtain any data from one of the surveys, and we also ran two surveys on the same injector at different points during the year. Therefore, in the Schrader, we obtained surveys on 10 of the 26 injectors. No injection survey was needed in the Sag River Oil Pool because it is a single zone reservoir. Ideally, injection wells chosen for surveys are those that have not had a recent injection survey, or wells where we think the survey information would be valuable. A number of multi-zone injectors have mechanical issues (i.e. screens, obstructions) that prevent obtaining surveys, so the well set is somewhat limited. Normally a Spinner/Temperature/Pressure (STP) survey is run since such a survey provides reliable information for most of our wells. This can be done with memory gauges on slickline or with E-line. Water Flow Logs (WFL) are run on wells with low water velocities where an STP survey would not be accurate. Since the majority of producers at Milne Point are completed with ESP’s or jet pumps which preclude logging below the pump while on production, few production logs are run. In 2005, two production logs were obtained in Kuparuk gas lift producers. In place of production logs, the Schrader Bluff field has utilized geochemical fingerprinting to determine production splits from the N, OA, and OB sands. The process is only applicable to certain wells based on the oil samples that have been obtained from the different zones in different hydraulic units. In 2005 a total of 20 producers were sampled and production splits determined from geochemical analysis. Exhibit 5-A is a summary of the Milne Point field well surveillance performed in 2005 on both producers and injectors. A total of 21 injectors were surveyed in the Kuparuk River and Schrader Bluff reservoirs in 2005. A number of these wells needed coiled tubing clean outs before we could get the tools down. 2006 surveillance plans are similar to 2005. In addition to obtaining injection surveys on 1/3 of multi-sand injectors, we will likely obtain one or two single zone Kuparuk IPROFs to determine the distribution of flow between the lobes. We will also continue to use geochemical fingerprinting to determine production splits.
