Chevron Paul M. Winslow Union Oil Company of California Petroleum Engineer 3800 Centerpoint Dr., Suite 100 Advisor Anchorage, AK 99503 Tel: 907-263-7629 Email pwinslowinslow@c@chevron.com RECEIVED Ali; 1 2 2079 Alaska Oil & Gas August 12, 2009 ArchEsr, Mr. Dan Seamount, Chairman Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 333 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 100 Anchorage, AK 99501-3539 RE: 2009 Annual Material Balance Calculations of Production and Infection Volumes: Kenai Gas Storage Facilitv #1 (KGSF#1), Swanson River Field Dear Commissioner Seamount: Attached for Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) review is the 2009 annual material balance calculation of production and injection volumes for the Kenai Gas Storage Facility #1 (KGSF#1), as required per Storage Injection Order #2A. This material balance includes all primary production from the Tyonek 64-5 reservoir (via the SRU 43-28 wellbore), as well as all storage operations from the two gas storage wells, KGSF #1 and KGSF #7A. Primary production occurred from December 1998 through May 2001 and storage operations are on-going since June 2001. Attachment #1 is a table of monthly gas production and injection volumes for KGSF #1 (formerly SRU 43-28) and KGSF #7A, from the commencement of primary production, through August 10, 2009. Pressures from the Tyonek 64-5 reservoir have been measured/estimated from both downhole pressure buildups and from surface shut-in tubing pressures. The surface readings were then converted to downhole pressures at a common datum of 6,395 ft TVD. These data points are tabulated in Attachment #2 and plotted versus the net cumulative production (production less injection) on the standard P over Z plot, shown in Attachment #3. As noted in previous Annual Material Balance reports, Attachment #3 shows that the early injection cycle pressures deviated above the straight line path established by the primary depletion pressure points. Following the primary production and injection cycle, the next two or three cycles (production & injection) show a consistent trend of the pressure/cumulative production data points migrating further left of the straight line path established by the primary depletion pressure points. The last two or three cycles (2006 — 2009) have been fairly consistent, indicating continued reservoir confinement of the gas storage volumes. MidContinent/Alaska/Chevron North America Exploration and Production www.chevron.com KGSF#1 2009 Annual Report August 12, 2009 Page 2 Note that the final 2008/2009 pressure/cumulative production data point (taken 2/19/09), was taken after a very short shut-in period (only 24 hrs). The reservoir pressure had not yet stabilized, thus it plots low on the P/Z vs. cumulative plot. If the reservoir pressure had been allowed to stabilize, the pressure would have most likely fallen on the same trend as seen in the past two or three production/injection cycles. If you or your staff has any questions regarding this annual report, please contact Paul Winslow at 263-7629. Sincerely, rV-) an Zj Paul M.
