Re: 2012 Annual Material Balance Calculations of Production and Infection
Volumes
Pretty Creek Gas Storage Facility
Pretty Creek Unit #4
Dear Commissioner Foerster:
Attached for your review is the 2012 "Annual Performance Report" for the Pretty Creek
Gas Storage Facility (PCU #4), as required per AOGCC Storage Injection Order #4 (SIO
#4). This material balance report covers the primary production period through the 2012
gas storage operations.
The 51-5 gas storage reservoir was in active use for all of 2012 and was an important
component of total gas deliverability for the Cook Inlet. There are one active wells that
is used for injection and production — Pretty Creek Unit #4 (aka PCU #4). Attached find
monthly injection and production data for 2012.
Hilcorp has performed material balance calculations on the 51-5 reservoir to provide
assurance of continued reservoir confinement of the gas storage volumes. Supporting
data is attached in numerical and graphical form for the convenience of the reader. As of
December 31, 2012 the estimated reservoir pressure in the 51-5 was approximately 1350
psig as estimated from the attached chart. Notice that one downhole pressure survey
was performed in May and eight BHP calculations were made for the 2012 storage cycle
between February and December. These data points are plotted with the historical data
and they conform to the overall curve, indicating continued confinement of the storage
gas.
Sincerely,
HILCORP ALASKA, LLC
