2013 CRU Reservoir Surveillance Report 1
Alpine Oil Pool Annual Reservoir Surveillance
ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc., (CPAI) as Operator on behalf of the working interest owners of the
Colville River Unit (CRU), submits this Alpine Annual Reservoir Surveillance Report as required
for the Alpine Oil Pool Conservation Order 443B, Rule 8. Effective March 26, 2009, the Alaska
Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) amended the Alpine pool rules to include the
Kuparuk zone in the Alpine Oil Pool within the Alpine geologic zone. These AOGCC orders
address pressure communication between the Alpine and Kuparuk zones. The AOGCC also
terminated the Nanuq-Kuparuk Oil Pool and expanded the area of the Alpine Oil Pool to cover
the extents. For this report the Alpine and Nanuq-Kuparuk pools are combined and are
discussed as the Alpine Oil Pool.
Attachment 1 illustrates the current Colville River Unit boundary and the surface facility pad
locations with current participating area agreements.
A: Progress of Recovery Projects, Alpine Status Update
142 development wells have been drilled in the Alpine pool to date, 130 in the Alpine reservoir
(66 producers, 63 injectors, and 1 data acquisition well) and 9 in the Nanuq Kuparuk formation
(4 producers, 5 injectors). 2 disposal wells are completed in an undefined pool in the Sadlerochit
Group sediments below the Alpine Pool
Reservoir management of the Alpine PA in 2014 will attempt to maximize oil rate by (1)
Targeting a pattern level injection/withdrawal ratio of one, (2) managing MWAG injection to
maximize recovery, (3) updating and ranking workover and peripheral development
opportunities for optimum drilling rig utilization, and (4) identifying well stimulation candidates.
These activities are expected to partially offset existing field decline.
The following is a summary of the status at Alpine Pool as of January 1, 2014.

C: Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Temperature, Tracer
Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Special Monitoring
A pressure survey map is presented in Attachment 2. The 10-412 report of reservoir pressure is
Attachment 3.
The Alpine reservoir is continuously managed to maintain pattern pressures at the level required
for stable production and optimum EOR performance. Several static pressure surveys were
conducted on Alpine wells during the course of operations in 2013. Downhole pressure gauges
are installed in 9 Alpine production wells. The gauges provide information about flood response
and demonstrate reservoir pressure during shut-in events. Reservoir pressures are also
estimated from the Alpine full field simulation model as well as from inflow performance
analyses. Both approaches are calibrated with actual reservoir pressure measurements
collected from static surveys.
D: Future Development Plans
Alpine drilling prospects exist at CD1, CD2 and CD4. A few peripheral development
opportunities still exist in the Alpine.
2014 planned development includes:
The northern injector CD1-03A
CD4-96A producer, which is a target in the southwestern portion of the Alpine field
CD4-97, which is the Alpine horizontal injector to support CD4-96A
A horizontal Alpine A sand producer in the south periphery
Two additional wells planned to be drilled from CD2, but which may be drilled from CD4
depending on slot availability and rig usage optimization
Additionally, other Alpine peripheral step out wells may be drilled in 2014 depending on rig
availability.

F: Progress of Plans and Tests to Expand the Productive Limits of the Pool
The Nanuq Pool has been developed from CD4. Three wells were drilled in 2013, CD4-292,
CD4-291 and CD4-290. At year-end 2013, a total of four active producers and three active
injectors were present in the Nanuq oil pool. A fifth Nanuq producer was completed in January
2014 and brought online. Current plans for the Nanuq field are continued drilling from CD4.

F: Progress of Plans and Tests to Expand the Productive Limits of the Pool
There are currently 22 wells drilled in the Fiord Nechelik PA, 12 producers and 10 injectors.
The Fiord Kuparuk PA currently has seven wells in it, 3 producers and 4 injectors. The Fiord
Nechelik plan of development includes four wells to be drilled from 2014-2016. The Fiord-
Kuparuk plan of development includes one potential well.
Development plans within both Fiord reservoirs continues to be an MWAG flood primarily via
line-drive horizontal well patterns and a few slant wells in the Fiord Kuparuk. Excellent voidage
replacement continues in the Fiord reservoirs, with the current voidage replacement ratio above
unity.

All surface safety valves tests performed in 2013 are listed in Attachment 5.

2: Summary and Analysis of Reservoir Pressure Surveys
Qannik had 2 downhole static pressure tests in 2013. The pressure results for 2013 were as
expected. Please see Attachment 2 for the 2013 Reservoir Pressure map. Please see
Attachment 3 for 10-412 report of reservoir pressures.
3: Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Temperature, Tracer
Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Special Monitoring
No surveys were performed in Qannik in 2013.
4: Review of Qannik Pool Production Allocation Factors and Issues
The WNS Field Production Allocation Factors are used to allocate production within the Qannik
Pool. A recent redetermination overview reflected little change to the Qannik pool production
allocation factors. The redetermination also resulted in a PA contraction.
2013 CRU Reservoir Surveillance Report 8
5: Progress of Enhanced Recovery Projects
Waterflood response has been observed in the Qannik reservoir, and flood surveillance is
ongoing as pressure maintenance and improved recovery continue.
6. Reservoir Management Summary
Cumulative water injection equates to roughly 9% of the hydrocarbon pore volume of the
developed portion of the reservoir. As would be expected for such an immature flood, water
production remains low at roughly 9% of total liquid production.
Given the high efficiency of injected water in the Qannik flood, injection into the reservoir is
maximized by maintaining bottomhole injection pressures as high as possible without exceeding
the parting pressure of the cap rock. Work is ongoing to investigate options for increasing
injectivity and throughput rates.
A reservoir simulation model of the Qannik reservoir covering the developed area and most of
the remaining undeveloped acreage has been updated to match performance data through the
end of 2013. The model is being used to evaluate options for increasing flood throughput rates
and future development potential.
