SUBJECT: Petroleum Insf:)ector FILE NO: AOAJFDFE.DOC BOPE Test HWC #123 Unocal Anna #28rd2 Granite Point Field PTD #88-79 Thursday, June 4, 1998' I witnessed the initial BOPE test on Hydraulic Well Consultants (HWC) rig #123 which was preparing to work over Unocal well #Anna 28rd2 in the Granite Point field. The rig was ready to test when I arrived and we began immediately. All BOPE equipment was tested and passed with no problems observed. The test spanned a time frame of six hours to the crew still rigging up the jack portion of the rig and is not indicative of the experience level of the crew, which I found to be very high. The rig and its surrounding area was clean considering the amount of hydraulic equipment and the fact that diesel was used as the test fluid. John Pelligrin (HWC supervisor) was on hand and ran a good BOP test procedure. SUMMARY: I witnessed the initial test of the BOPE on HWC rig #123 working over Unocal well # Anna #28rd2_ on the Anna platform in the Granite Point field. There were no failures observed. Test time 6 hours.
