Box 779 Anchorage, Alaska 99510 Dear Sir: Re: Change of Plans Granite Point State 18742 Well No. 32 Permit No. 76-87 Confirming a telephone conversation this date between Bill Halvorson and your Mr. John Miller, Amoco proposes to log and set 9-5/8" intermediate casing at current depth of 9544' in subject well. The Application for Permit to Drill provided for 9-5/8" casing to be set at TD, approxi- mately 11,000'. However, increasing severity of hole problems has made it necessary to case the well at this point. We plan to drill 8-1/2" hole to total depth, log, and set a 7" liner from TD to approximately 9250', through all pays. We also plan to cut 30' cores in the C-5 and C-7 sands. I rented a car and drove to the Shell-Amoco heliport, arriving at 8'00 AH. The helicopter departed at 8-15 AM and arrived on Platform Anna at 8-35 AH. There we met with Gary Utrecht, ~,oco drilling foreman, and John Edwards, Parker toolpusher. Nippling up was in progress. PreSsuring ,:~ould be by Halliburton pump and clear water. 'Tests began at 4:05 PM with the check valve in the kill line being disabled. Lower pipe rams, inside valve on the kill line and inside valve on the choke line tested to 3000 psig. Upper pipe rams, HCR valve on the choke ~ l~ne and check valve on the kill line then tested to 3000 psig. Twelve valves and thirty-six flanges in the choke manifold tested to 3000 psig.x The Cameron auto~.atic choke was actuated and three manual adjustable chokes were free moving. Accumulator pressure was 2350 and N~ bottles tested to 490, 600, 1600, t180, and 1725 psig. We reco~:mended t.~ose bottles less than 1500 psig be replaced. Blind rams and annular preventer then tested to 3000 psig. Ho~,~ver, the HCR valve then began to leak. Kelly, kelly cock, and lo~r kelly valve tested to 3000 psig. Dart type floor valve was on the floor. The rig was in oood repair and well sign in place. Tests concluded at 5:20 PM and a field inspection report was prepared with the original given to Gary Uttecht, a copy mailed to Bill Halverson and a copy attached to this report. The field inspection report requests that N2 bottles #1, #2 and #4 be replaced and the HCR valve be repaired and tested to 3000 psig. ~e further requested that the results of these actions be called to our office by 2-14-77. departed Platform Anna at 8:u~.
