Well A-31-14 was replaced by A31-14LW (permit # 94-0044, APl # 50-733-20305-62) when the permit was approved 3/23/94 and operations completed in May, 1994. The replacement well incorporates a lateral with the existing well bore. The lateral along with the original hole will be used for production of hydrocarbons. A review of both well files indicates administrative abandonment of the originating well bore is appropriate according to current AOGCC procedures for wells where additional permitted laterals - are drilled from an existing well bore. 20 AAC 25.005(e) requires a Permit to Drill for each hole drilled below the conductor unless drilled to straighten the original hole, sidetrack junk, or correct mechanical difficulties. In addition, AOGCC data bases require each conductor has only one permit number and APl number. Administrative abandonment of the original permit only eliminates duplication in the databases. Information for the original well and its replacement will be maintained in their respective files. The operator has been notified of this action. All future correspondence with the AOGCC should reflect the new permit number, APl number and well data. tat~st~cal Statistical Technician Technician Reservoir Engineer ) 4~'9~ Petroleum Geologist Commissioner N N ra~e i ~i ~ Maunder, Thomas E (DOAj From: Jeff_Gasch@xtoenergy.com Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 91:43 AM To: Maunder, Thomas E (DOA) Cc: Regg, James B{DOA); Paul_Figel@xtoenergy.com Subject: RE: XTO Energy - Platform A Conductors ~~~ ' ~ ~ ` Tom, I~3t~-~~~VJ `~sr,.\c:~.~~~ ~ ~.3 \~~ ~ tS~~ ~~c~O'~. 7he 10-404's for welis #6 & 7 in the list below A31-14LW {194044) &A32-11 R(193-092)) were sent via Fed-Ex ~~ yesterday. We would like to begin repairs ASAP. Please contact me with any questions. tn the summer of 2007 production personnel on the piatfiorm nodced a small area of bubbling paint and rust stains on the conductor of A32-11R. On July 16, 2007 an ultrasonic wall thickness inspec~on was performed on all conductors on both plat#orms (A & C). Seven conductors on Ptaiform A were iderttified as having possible corrosion and flagged for further inspection. The remaining conductors on A and all conductors on C appear to k,~ in good condition. The annular space belween the outside of ifie surface casing and inside af the conductor pi~ is filled with grout/cement to the top of the conduc#or. Starting in June 2008 this grout/cement has ~en chipped out to varying depths on the seven wells in question to determine if any corrosion exists an the surface casing. Below is the summary of findings for each well: (Conductor pipe is 24" C?D w/ 0.500" - 0.520" nominal wall thickness) A11-12 (166-044) - Ultrasonic Thickness (UT} showed hole in conductor 1.5° below top and other corrasion {0.160" wail thickness remaining) was noted. While there was no evidence of external corrosion to the conductor, upon UT examination there were isolated patches of internal corrosion found. An inspection port was cut into the conductor in order to inspect the 10" surface casing and a small hole was found in the casing. This area of corrosion was scanned by UT and the corroded area of steel was removed. Inspection of the 7.625"intermediate casing was made through the cut-out and found to be free of corrosion. The 10" surface casing was repaired with a 46" sleeve and re-inspected and the conductor inspection port was replaced and the conductor was then re-grouted and a plate seal-welded at the top to prevent ingress of corrosive fluids. ~ Morgan Evans Inspector Acuren USA Kenai, Alaska ; ^ integrity management solutions 12~i0l2007 21:22 rt ±. ~.,,,,, 14 8eam 19~830606 Conductor A31-~14LW ACt.~'EN US~ ~ ~~~ ~„ p, )" )" p~ PAGE 05107 .............. _...,.. ~~ ~ ~ i/,' ~ ' ~ • , , ~~ ~ ~ ~• • ~ ` ~ , ~,~ ,~ ( ~ ~~ 2 ~, a«.S~' ~ ~ „~~ I-~~. ~ 'tlMeu ~ ~. Norman, Enclosed are Sundry Operations Reports (Form 10-404) for conductor and surface casing repairs recently performed on XTO Energy Platform A in the Middle Ground Shoal Field of Cook Inlet, AK. All conduc~or's on Platforms A& C were inspected using ultrasonic thickness measurements after production personnel noticed a small area of bubbling paint and rust stains on the A32-11R conductor. Seven conductors on Platform A were identified as having possible corrosion near the wellhead and flagged for furth~r inspectimn. •The remaining conductors on Platform A and all conduciors on Flatform ~ appear to be in good condition. Grout that fills the annular space between the conductors and surface casings was chipped out on the seven wells in question to determine the extent of corrosion. Some corrosion was found on the surface casings and was repaired by welding patches or applying a composite material wrap. The annular space was refilled with grout and a seal plate was welded to the top of the conductor to prevent corrosive materials from entering at the surface. Sundry i eports for four of the seven wells are included in this mailing. Of these four, only two, the A 11-12 and Al T-13RD2, required repairs to the surface casing. The A22-14LS and A42-14 were inspected with no notable corrosion present. The Sundry Reports for the remaining three wells will be filed when repairs are completed. Please find attached the following information for your files: 1. Ultrasonic Thickness Inspectors Qualifications 2. Information on A+ pipe Wrap. 3. MGS FIELD WELLS CHANGE WELL STATUS FOR WELLS WITH LATERALS FEBRUARY 16, 2006 The following wells status was changed from SQZED to I-OIL. These wells had laterals drilled against them and production was assigned to all laterals in Cook Inlet when the wells were first drilled. Since then, AOGCC changed the policy about lateral wells and assigning production against lateral API numbers. This policy is like the lateral wells on the North Slope. Today I notice wells producing in the MGS field with a status not conducive to the well status and changed it to I-OIL. All the wells show oil production over the years. The status date reverted back to the date the well was completed as an oil well. The following wells were corrected: MGS A12-01 MGS A13-01 MGS A14-01 MGS A22-14 MGS A23-01R MGS A31-14 MGS A41-11 PERMIT 177-055 PERMIT 166-015 PERMIT 167-079 PERMIT 185-068 PERMIT 187-093 PERMIT 177 -031 PERMIT 185-174 All production has been assigned back to the original well API number, no production is assigned to a lateral well API number. ~---=, --> !IJ f} . /i IJ f ;~y.J ~A/U¿- ji V It J l ~ßvt1<}¿J TONY KNOWLE$, GOVERNOR ALASKA OIL AND GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION August 4, 1999 William Miller Cross Timbers Operating Company HC01 Box 485 Old Wik Road Kenai, AK 99611-9704 3001 PORCUPINE DRIVE ANCHORAGE, ALASKA 99501-3192 PHONE: (907) 279-1433 FAX: (907) 276-7542 Dear Mr. Miller, Re: Administrative Abandonment Action Middle Ground Shoal Wells A33-11 Permit # 85-235 A22-14 Permit # 85-068 Al4-01 Permit # 67-079 Al2-01 Permit # 77-055 A31-11 Permit ~ Al3-01 Permit # 66-015 A41-11 Permit # 85-174 This letter reflects the lateral well that replaced the original well by well number, permit number and API number: A12-01LN (permit # 94-120, API# 50-733-10081-62) permit was approved 9/29/94. The replacement well incorporates a lateral with the existing well bore. The lateral along with the original hole will be used for production of hydrocarbons. A review of both well files indicates administrative abandonment (SQZED, AOGCC status) of the originating well bore is appropriate according to current AOGCC procedures for wells where additional permitted laterals are drilled from an existing well bore. Production will be reported to the original API wellbore (-00, -01 or etc) and not to the lateral API wellbore (-60, -61 or etc). 20 AAC 25.005(e) requires a Permit to Drill for each hole drilled below the conductor unless drilled to straighten the original hole, sidetrack junk, or correct mechanical difficulties. In addition, AOGCC databases require each conductor have only one permit number and API number. Administrative abandonment of the original permit only eliminates duplication in the databases. Information for the original well and its replacement will be maintained in their respective files until plugged and abandoned according to 20 AAC 25.105. Wells No. A-32-14 and A-42- 14 are the two permitted "G" Pool producers in the NE/4, Sec. 14-8N-13W, SM. Our plan is to deepen idle Well No. AWS-1 which was drilled and completed during 1967 as a salt water source well but has never been used for that purpose. Form 10-401 and related data are attached as required for a re-entry. Also attached is Form 10-403 for abandonment of the original completion with a diagrammatical prognosis for squeezing off the salt water beari~ng interval. A plat of the area is an additional attachment for reference in this connection. Subject well and its proposed subsurface location are shown together with the other wells and well tracks in the vicinity. The proposed well is located in an area of leaseholds owned in undivided 1/3 interests by Shell, Chevron and Arco. As shown on the attached plat, the location is approximately 2-1/4 miles from the nearest common line with another producing lease operated by Amoco. Justification for this well is based upon the recovery of additional oil and gas reserves which would not otherwise be produced within the economic life of the project. The additional drainage point is designed to achieve a better balance in the operation and enhance the pressure maintenance program.
