You will note that these are on different scales and that the plat showing the location in section one is the surface location, and the plat showing the location in section six is the bottom hole location. We apologize for the delay in delivering these plats but we only recently found them in our Denver files. I assume you already have all of the wireline and mud logs that you requested in the same letter as they were sent to you several weeks ago. Please let us know if your records for this well are now complete. If not, we can forward any missing items to you. PB/jg Enclosure cc: M. H. Mirbaba A. R. Mogck Very truly yours, P. Permit No. 82-153 Sec. 1, T7N, R14W ~]edne~day, septem~r ~5., 1982 - I left Anchorage at 4:30 p.m. via ERA' and arrived at Penro~ Rig #96 at 5:30 p.m. They were installing the preventer and preparin9 for testing. Two hundred and eight feet of conductor had been driven to 44' BOF and 480' of 20" 1'29# Vetco LS casing was set at 316' 'BOF and cemented with 718 cf cl "G" cement (in place 8:37 a.m. September 14, 1982). Chris Cooper, Mobil Drilling Superintendent, said he had m~t with the Commission and submitted a new diverter design which ~as accepted by A.O.G.C.C., a copy is included with this report. In preparing for test, it ~s discovered that though the HCR valve opened when the annular preventer close~, the pneumatic valves were not automatically opened. Modifications were made which latched both pneumatic valves open at all times and. were indicated oPen.at the valve by handles oriented paralell to the pipe. This arrangement was ~discussed by phone and acceptable to Blair Wondzell. Testing commenced at 10:30 p.m.; however, the HCR valve failed to close and had to be changed out. The back-up valve ~s checked on shore and wouldn't operate so a series I50!ifull opening hydraulic 8" valve was borrowed from Phi~lip to replace it. The testing began at 1:'40 p.m. SePtember 16, 1982. Worked on line and valves u'~til 3:50 p.m., system still held max of 200 psi with pump~running. Found valve open in pump room, closed valve and ~etested, no improvement. At 73 strokes the maximum pressure was still only 200 psi ~th a rapid bleed off. The 8" replace- ~nt valve ~s tested; it opened when the annular preventer wa s closed. .At 5:10 p.m. they drilled out of the shoe and never drilled h~rd cement, the formation is unconsolidated at this depth and is probably where the pressure was bleeding off to. In summary, I witnessed the diverter system functionally tested on the S. ~cArthur River #iA well. Survey in and jack-up rig at 1400' FEL, 700' FNL Section 1-T7N-R14W. . . Run 26" bit on drilling assembly to che~k.~wat~epth on location. Drive 70' BOF (190' K.B ) of 30" drive pipe with VETCO "DR" connectors. Drive pipe to extend back up to the jack-up rig with no internal landing ring. 4. Pick up and run 26" drilling assembly. . Drill 26" hole to 300' beneath the ocean floor (420' K.B.) using non- dispersed fresh water mud. . Pick up and run 420' overall of 20" conductor casing with VETCO "LS" connectors including 20" mud line hanger and running tool with the external landing shoulder cut down to 26" O.D. Hanger to be set at 20' below mudline. 0 CircUlate clean and cement according to attached cementing program. Cement to the mudline casing suspension system. Displace with fresh water mud. Run tubing between 30" and 20" casing to the 20" running tool and circulate cement. . Cut 20" casing, if needed, and weld on 20"-2,000 psi casinghead. Rig up annular preventer and flow diverter. Test annular preventer to 1000 psi. Test diverter and diverter lines by pumping fresh water or low solids mud to insure that all lines are open and clear of any mud, cuttings, etc. Test casing to 1000 psi surface pressure. (Must be witnessed by AOGCC). . Run 17~" , 2 bit and clean out cement and shoe. After drilling shoe displace hole with fresh water mud. 10. Drill out of 20" casing with a 17½" bit to 3050' beneath the ocean floor (3250'± K.B.) using non-dispersed fresh water mud. Use diverter system if hydrocarbon zones are encountered. Run directional survey every 500'. Circulate clean and pull out. 11. Pick up and run 3120' overall of 13-3/8" surface casing including 13-3/8" mud line hanger with running tool, and land in the 20" mud line hanger. 12. Circulate clean and cement according to attached cementing program. Cement to the mud line casing suspension system. Displace with fresh water mud. Open running tool and circulate out excess cement. 13. Remove flow diverter system, install casing slips, and cut casing. Install 13-5/8"-5,000 psi X 20"-2,000 psi casing spool and 13-5/8"-5,000 psi X 13-5/8"-5,000 psi casing spool. Test seal to 5,000 psi. With a 13-5/8"-10,000 psi X 13-5/8"-5,000 psi double studded adapter flange, nipple up the 13-5/8"-10,000 psi BOP stack, test annular to 2,500 psi and~.t~st.,~am.,~ preventers and choke manifold to 5,000 psi. Test casing to 3,000 ~iils~fa~e pressure. (Must be witnessed by AOGCC). 14. Drill out w/12¼" bit to 20'± below shoe. Run leak off test as per attached testing procedure. 15. Drill 12¼" hole according to the attached directional drilling program to 8760'± VD, 9082'± MD beneath the ocean floor (9202'± K.B.) using low solids non-dispersed mud. Take at least one directional survey every 100' and on each dull bit. NOTE: If the Middle Ground Shoal formation is not present at 8780'±, 9 5/8" casing will not be set until the formation is encountered. 16. Pick up and run 9202' overall of 9-5/8" intermediate casing including 9-5/8" mud line hanger with running tool and land in the 13-3/8" mud line hanger. 17. Circulate clean and cement as per cement program. Displace with fresh water mud. Open running tool and circulate clean to ensure no excess cement. 18. Pick up casing spool and BOP stack, install casing slips, and cut casing. Reinstall casing spool, 13-5/8"-5,000 psi X 13-5/8"-5,000 psi, and BOP and test seal to 5,000 psi. Test annular preventer to 2,500 psi and test ram preventers and choke manifold to 5,000 psi. Test casing to 3,500 psi surface pressure. (Must be witnessed by AOGCC). 19. Drill out w/8½" bit to 20'± below shoe. Run leak off test as per attached testing procedure. 20. Drill 8½" hole according to the attached directional drilling program to 10,060' VD, 10,461' MD beneath the ocean floor (10,581' K.B.) using low solids non-dispersed mud system. Take at least one directional survey every 100' and on each drill bit. NOTE: Take sidewall samples and full diameter cores as directed by geologist. 21. Ruin suite of logs as per attached logging program. 22. Depending on the results of logs plug and abandon or run 7" production liner as follows: Pick up and run 1500' of 7" liner with 9-5/8" X 7" liner hanger. Set liner hanger at 8,957' beneath the ocean floor (9077'± K.B.) with the bottom of the liner at 10,461' BOF. Cement liner to liner top. 23. Test liner lap to 4500 psi surface pressure.
