Mr. Joseph Rudd, Representative of the State Attorney Genersl's Office in Anchorage. In attendance were: Mr. Charles E. Smith, Manager of Alaskan Operations, Union Oil Company of California. Mr. William Thompson, Division Landman, Union Oil Company of California. Mr. B. L. Price, District Landman, Standard Oil Company of California. Mr. C. Edmondson, Reporter for the Anchorage T~es. The hearing was called to order: Mr. Murphy.. "The CoIilllissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resoul.ces, Mr. Phil R. Holdsworth, has duly' authorized the following designees for conduct of this 'hearing: Mr. Richard V. Murphy, Petroleum Engineer, Division of Mines and Minerals and Mr. Joseph Rudd, Represent- ative of the State Attorney General's office in Anchorage. This hearing is being held pursuant to the application filed by the Union Oil Company of California on October 15,1959 for an exception to 11 Alaska Administrative Code, better known as the oil and g88 conser- vation rules and regulations, Section 2061.2 and 2061.4. Formal publication notices of this hearing have appeared in both local newspapers for ten consecutive days prior to ,today. For the benefit of those attending and not directly affected by this hearing, I shall read the application of the Union Oil Company, of California, copy on file at this address, to be noted and attached thereto." Mr. Murphy read the application and the affidavit referred to in the preceding paragraph which 18 attached hereto.
