It appearing that: 1) The Humble Oil & Refining Company submitted a request dated August 3, 1964~ for an exception to the 500 foot governmenta! quarter section boundary offset provisions of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Regulations for an exploratory well, the Tyonek Reserve #1~ located 2078 feet south and 425 feet west from the northeast corner~ Section 5~ T. 11N.-R. 11.W.~ Seward Meridian.. 2) Notice of the petition was published on August 6, 1964~ in Anchorage Times pursuan~ to Section 2012 of the Oil & Gas Conservation Regulations but no protest or request for hearing was received. And i~ further appearing that an exception to S. ection 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Humble Oil & Refining Company to locate the Tyonek Reserve #1 within 500 feet of a governmental quarter section line should be granted ~o eliminate a location p.'roblem due to topography. Marshall APPLICATION FOR EXCEPTION' Gentlemen: Humble Oil & Refining Company, a Delaware Corporation, (hereinafter called "Humble") respectfully requests an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Oil and Gas Conserva- tion Regulations of the State of Alaska. Said. Section 2061.1 requires that not more than one oil well be drilled, to the same pool on any governmental quarter section or governmental lot corresponding thereto, nor shall any well be drilled for oil on such tract which contains less 'than 150 acres, nor shall the subsurface location of an oil well be nearer than 500 feet to any boundary line of such tract~ The proposed location for H~mble's Tyonek Reserve No. i as reflected by the attached plat is 2078' sou~h and 425' west from the northeast corner of Section 5, Township ll North, Range ll West, Third Judicial Division, State of Alaska. A location at a point with a minimum 500' distance from the tract boundary line would impose an unreasonable and unnecessary burden on Humble, due to the topography at such location. The attached plat is drawn to the scale of one (1) inch equaling 1,O00 feet, accurately showing to scale the property for which the exception is sought. There are no wells on adjoining surrounding properties. Humble is the lessee of all lands within a radius of one mile of the proposed location.
