The Mobil Oil Company and the Atlantic Refining Company have submitted an application~ dated April 27~ 1965~ for an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations~ Title 11, AAC. 2. The optimum location, geologically and topographically~ is 2335.6' FNL and 1704.0' FEL~ Section 1~ TllN-R12W, S.M. which places said location closer than 500' to a quarter section line. 3. The operators are ready to commence drilling operations. 4. The Mobil Oil Company and the Atlantic Refining Company have also sub- mitted an application for permit to drill which has been approved subject to this Conservation Order. NOW~ THEREFORE~ IT IS ORDERED that pursuant to Section 2014 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations an emergency is found to exist and the request of Mobil Oil Company and the Atlantic Refining Company to place the location as described above and to commence drilling is hereby approved for the 15 days. from the above date. The Mobil Oil Company submitted a request dated April 27~ 1965 for an exception to the 500 foot governmental quarter section boundary offset provision of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations~ Title 11~ AAC.~ for the exploratory well Moquawkie #1 proposed to be located 1704.0' WEL and 2335.6' SNL~ Sectionl, TllN-R12W, Seward Meridian. 2. Notice of hearing on the petition was published in the Anchorage Daily News on April 30~ 1965 pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations but no protest or request for hearing was received. 3. The operator was ready to drill within a few days after the application for permit to drill was submitted. To avoid a delay until the end of the official protest period an emergency order, dated April 28, 1965~ was issued allowing the operator to spud May 2, 1965. AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Mobil Oil Company to locate the Moquawkie #1 within 500 feet of a governmental quarter section line should be granted because this location is best suited to the geology and the topography. NOW, THEREFORE~ IT IS ORDERED that the Mobil Oil Company be permitted to locate the exploratory well Moquawkie #1 1704.0' WEL and 2335.6' SNL, Section 1~ TllN- R12W~ Seward Meridian. The only' lessee within one (1) mile radius from our proposed location is British American and Texaco who jointly own Section 7~ TllN~ RllW~ S.M. The location for which a permit has been requested was picked because it is the optimum sub-surface and surface location for this proposed well. We are also enclosing three (3) copies of the location survey' for this well~ bearing the registered land surveyor seal of Franklin M. Lindsey.
