The Atlantic Refining Company submitted a request dated October 27~ 1965 for an exception to the 500 foot governmental quartersection boundary offset provision of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations~ Title 11~ AAC~ for the exploratory well Federal #1 proposed to be located 491' FWL and 2417' FSL of Section 31~ T8N-R5W~ C.R.M. 2. Notice of hearing on the petition was published in the Anchorage Daily News on October 30~ 1965 pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations but no protest or request for hearing was received. AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to Sec- tion 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and,Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Atlantic Refining Company to locate the Federal ~1 within 500 feet of a governmental quarter section iine should be granted because this location is best suited to the geology and topography. ~ NOW~ THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Atlantic Refining Company be permitted to locate the exploratory well Federal #1 491' FWL and 2417' FSL of Section 31, T8N-R5W~ C.R.M. Because of the topographic features in the well site area we request an exception to the well spacing regulations. Our proposed location will be closer than 500' to the lease line and quarter section line in order to place the rig on the most economical and advantageous site.
