Marshall, Jr. Executive Secretary Alaska 0il and Gas Conservation Committee 3001 Porcupine Drive Anchorage, Alaska Dear Sir: In connection with the completion of the Nicolai Creek State #1 Well, Texaco Inc., as Operator for itself and The Superior Oil Company, hereby applies for a spacing exception to produce said Nicolai Creek State ~1 Well from producing intervals located within 1500 feet of the boundary of a governmental section. This well was directionally drilled from a surface location on U. S. Lease Anchorage 034161 and. completed at a subsurface location on State of Alaska Tide- lands LeaSe ADL 17598 as shown on the attached plat. Testing of all zones from total drilled depth of 9302 feet to 3630 feet were found to be wet and of no commercial value. Testing of intervals from 3420 feet to 3462 feet and 3615 feet to 3630 feet have resulted in the establishment of commercial quanitities of gas. As noted on the attached plat the top of the producing interval is approximately 600 feet South of the boundary of U. S. Lease Anchorage 03~161 and approximately 520 feet West of the boundary of State of Alaska Tidelands Lease ADL 17585, according to the official State of Alaska leasing map. Texaco Inc. and The Superior 0il Company are joint lessees of State of Alaska Tidelands Leases ADL 17585 and. 17598. Texaco is lessee of U. S. Leases Anchorage 0350l~, 035135 and 034.161, all or portions of said leases lie within Mr. Thomas R. Marshall, Jr. -2- 5-6-66 a two (2)miie radius of the subsurface producine interval of the well. Other lessees of lands within the two (2] mile radius are: Socony Mobil Oil Co. - Ststeof Alaska Leases ADL 22156 and 22157. The Atlantic Refining Co. - State of Alaska Tidelands Lease ADL 18774. No other wells have been drilled within the two (2) miles of the Nicolai Creek State ~-~1 Well subsurface producing intervals.
