The Atlantic Richfield Company submitted a request dated May 19, 1966 for an exception to the 500 foot governmental quarter section boundary'offset provision of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations, Title 11, AAC, for an exploratory well proposed to be located 2140' FSL and 300' FWL of Section 15, TgN-R13W, S.M. 2. Notice of hearing on the petition was published in the Anchorage Daily News on May 26, 1966 pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations but no protest or request for hearing was received. AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Atlantic Richfield Company to locate the McArthur State #1 within 500 feet of a govern- mental quarter section line should be granted because this location is best suited to the geology and water depths. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Atlantic Richfield Company be permitted to locate the exploratory well McArthur State #1 2140' FSL and 300' FWL of Section 15, T9N-R13W, S.M, DONE at Anchorage and Juneau, Alaska, and dated June 28, 1966. ADL ~18772~ Cook Inlet We wish to file a request for an exception to the State's setback requirement of 500' for the drilling of our McArthur State ~1 well in the Cook Inlet. Due to the Inlet floor conditions and the depth of the water it is most advantageous to locate the well 300' from the west line of Section 15. The enclosed plot showing the location of the well with respect to the section line and Union Oil of California and Marathon Oil Company's lease ~ADL 17594 to the west is correct to the best of my knowledge.
