IT APPE..~ING THAT:
1. The Atlantic Richfield Company submitted a request 'dated. June 28, 1967, for
an exception to the 500 foot governmental quarter section boundary offset provision
of Section 2061.1 of th~ Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations, Title 11,
AAC, for the exploratory well, Trading Bay State ~2, proposed to be located 100
feet from the south line and 1700 feet from the west line, Section 18, T10N-Itl2W,
S. M.
2. Notice of hearing on the petition was published in the Anchorage Daily News
on June 29, 1967, pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation
Regulations, but no protest for hearing was received.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to Section 2061.1
of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Atlantic Richfield
Company to locate the Trading Bay State #2 less than 500 feet from the protracted
governmental section line should be granted because the water depth and the floor
features of Cook Inlet at this location are the most advantageous for the drilling
operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Atlantic Richfield Company be permitted to
locate the exploratory well, Trading Bay State ~J2, at the applied for location.

Notice is hereby given that the Atlantic Richfield Company has requested
the Alaska 011 and Gas Conservation Committee to issue an order exempting the
captioned well from the footage spacing requirements of AAC, Title II, Section
2061.1 because of the water depth and floor features in this area of Cook
Inlet. Parties who may be aggrieved df the requested order is issued are
allowed ten days from the date of this publication in which to file a protest
and request for hearing. Place of filing is 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage,
Alaska. If such a protest ls timely filed, a hearing on the matter will be
held at the above address at I0:00 a.m., July I0, 1967, at which time protestants
and others may be heard. If no protest is timely filed, the Committee will
consider, the Issuance of the order without a hearing.-

'We wish to file a request for an exception
to the State's setback requirement of 500'
for the drilling of our Trading Bay State
~2 well in the Cook Inlet. Due t.o the Inlet
floor conditions and. t'he depth of the water,
it is most advantageous to locate t'he well
100' fr.om the south line of Section 18.
The plat of the location was enclosed with the
application "Permit to Drill". To the best of
my kno%~ledge, the lease holders of lands located
within one mile of the location are:
Sec. 17, T10N, R12W- Te~aco-Superior Oil
Sec. 20, T10N, R12W- Union-Mobil Oil
Ail of the other adjoining lanc]s are held by
Atlantic. Richfield Company.
