Re: THE APPLICATION OF THE MOBIL OIL CORPORATION, )
operator of the Granite Point State #33-13 well, )
for an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil )
and Gas Conservation Regulations, Title 11, AAC. )
Conservation Order #50
September 7, 1967
IT APPEARING THAT:
1. The Mobil Oil Corporation submitted'a request dated August 7, 1967 for an
exception to the 500 feet governmental quarter section boundary offset provi-
sion of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations,
Title 11, AAC, for the deviated development well, Granite Point State #33-13,
to produce from the interval located 2073 feet from the south line and 2326
feet from the east line at the top of the producing interval and 2015 feet
from the south line and 2340 feet from the east line at the base of the
producing interval, all in Section 13, T 10 N, R 12 W, SM.
2. There are no other operators affected by the granting of this exception
at the applied for location.
3. The bottom hole location of this well is not closer than 1000' from the
bottom hole location of any other oil well.
4. Notice of hearing on the petition was published in the Anchorage Daily
News on August 16, 1967, pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas
Conservation Regulations, but no protest was received.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to 2061.1
of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Mobil Oil
Corporation to produce the Granite' Point State #33-13 well less than 500 feet
from the protracted governmental quarter section line should be granted for
this deviated development well because of the inherent difficulty of controlling
the'direction and the degree of deviation in the drilling of a well to objective
formations at an attitude which makes the angle of penetration very difficult
to control.°
