The Pan American Petroleum Corporation submitted a request' dated August 4, 1967 for an exception to the 500 foot governmental quarter section boundary offset provision of Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations, Title 11, AAC, for the directionally drilled'develop- ment well Granite Point "A" 18742 #7, to complete and produce from various intervals, some of which are closer than 500 feet to the west line of Section 6, T 10 N, R 11 W, SM. 2. The location of any of the producing intervals will not be closer than 1000' from the producing intervals of any other existing oil well. 3. Notice of hearing on the petition was.p~blished in the Anchorage Daily News on August 16, 1967, pursuant to Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations, but no protest for hearing was received. AND IT FURTHER APPEARING that after due consideration an exception to Section 2061.1 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Pan American Petroleum Corporation to complete and produce the Granite Point "A" 18742 less than 500 feet from the protracted section line should be granted because of the inherent difficulty of controlling the direction of deviation and the degree of deviation in the drilling of a well to an exact geographic location and because corrective measures are impractical. CONSERVATION ORDER #52 Page 2 September 7, 1967 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Pan American Petroleum Corp- oration be permitted to complete and produce the development well Granite Point "A" 18742 #7 at the applied for location.
