Union Oil Company of California submitted a request dated April 23, 1969, for an emergency order and a permanent order granting an exception to Section 2061(b) of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for' the well Trading Bay Unit No. S-2 to produce from perforations that are less than 500 feet from a property line. 2. The subject well is perforated in an interval that is located between 380' FNL and 664' FWL, Section 35, TION, R13W, S.M. and 545' FNL and 573' FWL, Section 35, TION, R13W, S.M. 3. The Atlantic Richfield Company is the only affected party and by letter dated April 23, 1969, has stated that the Company has no objections to the exception requested in the apPlication. 4. An emergency order dated April 25, 1969, was granted permitting the Operator to produce the referenced well. 5. Notice of the hearing on the request was published in the Anchorage Daily News on April 26, 1969, but no protest was received. AND IT 'FURTHER APPEARING THAT after due consideration an exception to Section 2061(b) of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations permitting the Union Oil Company of California to produce the Trading Bay Unit No. S-2 well at a distance less than 500 feet from the property line should be granted because difficulty in maintaining directional control while drilling resulted in the productive interval being encountered closer to the property line than had been planned. CONSERVATION ORDER NO. 73 Page 2 May 10, 1969 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT Union Oil Company of California be permitted to produce the Trading Bay Unit No. S-2 well at a minimum distance of 380 feet from the property line between the Trading Bay Unit and lease ADL 35431. Notice is hereby given that Union Oil Company of California has requested the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Committee to issue an order of exception to the spacing provisions.of Section 2061{b), Title ll, AAC to produce the referenced well at a subsurface location 380 feet south of the property line separating the Trading Bay Unit and lease ADL 35431. Parties who may be aggrieved if the requested order is issued are allowed ten days from the date of this publication in.Which to file a protest. Difficulty in maintaining directional control while drilling the Trading Bay Unit S-2 well resulted in a portion of the perforated interval being Within 500 feet of the property line separating the Trading Bay Unit and lease ADL 35431.
