IT APPEARING THAT:
1. The Mobil Oil Corporation, as operator of State lease ADL 18761 for
itself and Union Oil Company of California, submitted a request dated
June 27, 1969 for an exception to Rule 2 of Conservation Order No. 59 for
the referenced well.
2. Pan American Petroleum Corporation, .as operator of State lease ADL 18742
for itself, Phillips Petroleum Company, Atlantic Richfield Company and
Skelly Oil Company (Chakachatna) will join Mobil Oil Corporation in the
drilling of tile well.
3. The MUC No. I-2 well is being drilled as a Middle Kenai producing
well and, subsequently, a water injection well.
4. Notice of the hearing on the request was published in the Anchorage
Daily News ..on July 3, 1969 and July 19, 1969 pursuant to Section 31.05.050
of the Alaska Statutes, but no protest was received.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING THAT a drilling permit for the referenced ,.;.:ell
~vas approved on July 3, 1969 and an emergency order was issued to permit
drilling.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING THAT an exception to Rule 2 of Conservation Order
No. 59 permitting the Mobil Oil Corporation to drill jointly with Pan
American Petroleum Corporation the MUC No. I-2 well should be granted to
protect correlative rights and to prepare for field-wide water injeCtion.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Mobil Oil Corporation be permitted
to continue the drilling of the MUC No. I-2 well to a subsurface location
where the mid-point of the Middle Kenai Pool will be approximately on the
lease line common to State leases ADL 18742 and ADL 18761 and the interval
from the top of the Middle Kenai Pool to total depth to be in-a target
area 400 feet wide and 600 feet long which is located 200 feet nortil to
200 feet south of the north line of Section 13 and extending from 200 feet
east to 800 feet east of the west lines of Sections 12 and 13, all in
TION, R12W, S.M.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the MUC No. I-2 well may be completed as a
producing well in the Middle Kenai Oil Pool but no oil production is. permitted
beyond February, 1970. Upon approval of the Oil and Gas Conservation
Committee, the well may be converted to a water injection well.

Re: The application of Mobil Oil Corporation for an order granting an
exception to Rule 2 of Conservation Order No. 59 allowing the
MUC #I-2 well to be drilled at or near the lease line between
State leases ADL 18742 and ADL 18761 in the Granite Point Field.
The well is to be in a target area 400 feet wide and 600 feet long
which is located 200 feet north to 200 feet south of the north line
of Section 13 and extending from 200 feet east to 800 feet east of
the west lines of Sections 12 and 13, all in T1ON, R12W, S.M.
Notice is hereby given that Mobil Oil Corporation has requested the
Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Committee to issue an order exempting the
captioned well from the well density and footage spacing requirements of
Rule 2 of Conservation Order No. 59. The proposed well will be drilled
as a water injection well but will be completed as a production well
until full-scale water injection is initiated in February, 1970. Parties
who may be aggrieved if the requested order is issued are allowed ten
day's from tile date of this publication in which 'to file a protest and
request for hearing. Place of filing is 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage,
Alaska. If such a protest is timely filed, a hearing on the matter will
be held at the above address at 9:30 a.m., July 31, 1969, at which time

REQUEST FOR EXCEPTION TO
CONSERVATION ORDER #59,
RULE 2
Sir:
Mobil Oil Corporation requests that an order of exception to the prov-
isions of Conservation Order #59, Rule 2 be issued regarding the drilling
of Well MUC #I-2 in the Granite Point Field, in that the well, proposed
as a joint operation between Mobil as operator for Mobil-Union and Pan
American Petroleum Corporation as operator for Pan American, Phillips,
A. tlantic Richfield, and Skelly, will be located on or near the lease
line between State Leases ADL 18742 and ADL 18761, and therefore deviate
from the following provisions of Conservation Order #59, Rule 2:
1. No more than two completed oil wells shall be allowed in the
Middle Kenai Pool on any governmental quarter section or
governmental lot corresponding thereto.
2. No oil well may be completed closer than 1000 feet to any
well drilled to or capable of producing from the M~iddle
Kenai Pool and at a distance of less than 500 feet from
a lease line where ownership changes.
The subject well is to be drilled primarily as a joint Mobil-Union-
Chakachatna (MUC) Middle Kenai zone water injection well. However, it
will be produced to clean up the well until full scale water injection
is initiated in February, 1970.
The target location at 9450' M.D., which is the approximate mid-point
of the Middle Kenai producing zone, is 600' east of the NW Corner of
Section 13, TION, R12W, S.M. and the interval between the top of the
Middle Kenai producing zone and total depth is programed to be within

the target area, as shown on the attached location plat. Although the
well course is programmed to be farther than 1000' from existing producers,
a portion of the target area is within 1000' of Granite Point State
# 11-13.
The target area, which will extend from 200' to 800' east of the west
lines of Section 12 and 13 and 200' north and 200' south of the common
lease line between Sections 12 and 13, has been app~oved by the operators
involved. A copy of the final line agree~nent between the operators will
be made available to the State Division of Oil & Gas upon its completion.
The State of Alaska unleased tracts approximately two miles south and also
two miles east of this proposed location a~e the nearest affected property
to the subject Mobil-Pan American leases.
Ail facts herein stated are within the knowledge of the affiant true,
and the accompanying plat is accurately drawn to scale and correctly
reflects pertinent and required data. Copies of this request have been
forwarded by certified mail to the affected parties on the attached mailing
list.

Approximate mid-point of Middle Kenai producing zone will be 600 feet
east of the northwest corner of Section 13, TION, R12W, S.M.
Mobil Oil Corporation petitioned the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation
Committee on June 27, 1969, for an order excepting the referenced well
location from the footage spacing requirements of Section 2061, Title 11,
AAC. On July 2, 1969, said corporation requested an emergency order to
permit the drilling of the referenced well. The affected operators have
joined Mobil Oil Corporation in the request for an emergency order.

An emergency order is hereby granted pursuant to and in accordance
with Section 2012 of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations
permitting the drilling of tile referenced well. This emergency order
expires July 18, 1969.

that they have no objection to the spacings, order.

Sir:
Mobil Oil Corporation requests that an order of exception to the
spacing provisions of Section 2061, Title II be issued regarding
the drilling of well MUC #I-2 in the Granite Point Field, in that
the well, proposed as a joint operation between Mobil as operator
for Mobil-Union and Pan American Petroleum Corporation as operator
for Pan American, Phillips, Sinclair (Atlantic Richfield), and
Skelly, will be located on or near the lease line between State
leases ADL 18742 and ADL 18761 and therefore deviate from the re-
quired 500' minimum standback at a lease line.
The subject well is to be drilled as a joint Mobil-Union-Chakachatna
(MUC) Middle Kenai zone producer and water injector. The target
location at 9450'M.D., which is the approximate mid-point of the
Middle Kenai producing zone, is 600' east of the NW corner of
Section 13, TION, R12W, S.M. and the interval between the top of
the Middle Kenai producing zone and total depth is programed to
be within the target area, as shown on the attached location plat.
